Ha, well done Anon1 – I am apparently due more incivility! I challenged your misrepresentation of the kind of language I use on another thread, and you did not reply. There are plenty of unhelpful modes of interaction, but honest disagreement is not one of them, and I don’t think I’ve ever said otherwise.
As you know I won’t be drawn into the pointless fighting that goes on here. If would like my opinion about something, and if I judge your point to be in good faith, I am happy to answer it. But some courtesy would not go amiss – this board is surely in need of it.
Thank you for your comment John S-D and for what you said. My comment appeared under yours, was not in reply to you but to another commenter who seems to be lacking in concern for fellow man.
“I do believe that most of one’s mindbody healing takes place overnight”
The body is at its lowest ebb at night. Most people die in the night, peaking at around 3 am, the witching hour. We’re at our strongest an hour or so after eating.

I understand that, Mary. Thank you. I am glad you are feeling better.
Kind regards,

I can but humbly concur with your most astute and delicate of observations.
Jonathan Dimbleby exhibited desperate bias against Corbyn on AQ last night, interrupting, trying to put words into Seema Malhotra’s mouth and interjecting. Appalling. He is not a chairman. He is a stooge for the status quo.
Allison Pearson’s contribution was just plain nasty. She is ex D Mail and E Standard. Now @ Torygraph.
The question selected by the BiBiCee was ‘How long will Jeremy Corbyn outlast Michael Foot’s three years as Labour leader?’

Any Answers is coming up at 2.00pm R4 It will be interesting to hear the reaction of the listeners. Judging by the audience applause in the AQ episode, they are onside with Jeremy and not the naysayers.
Omitted to mention the other two contributors on AQ

“New Eurostat figures show that 80 per cent of the so-called “refugees” arriving in Europe are in actual fact economic migrants from as far afield as Pakistan, Nigeria and Albania simply looking for a better life.”
Supposing that such ‘figures’ (and what we are dealing with is nothing more than one rather silly man’s interpretation of them) are accurate, they in no way contradict the position-that NATO is wholly responsible for this crisis- that I put forward.
The largest contingents of refugees are from countries whose economies and communities have been wrecked by unprovoked military attacks. The illegal war in Iraq was one such, the unjustifiable attack on Afghanistan another. And then, before we even consider Syria, which from the beginning was a US funded and NATO operation, there are Somalia, Libya, Yemen and many other countries to take into account. In all of them normal life is interrupted, factories, infrastructure and social amenities, including education and medical facilities, bombed and rendered inoperative and, in consequence, in order to survive populations flee.
Behind them they leave, amongst other things, the highly polluted areas in which depleted uranium ammunition has been used. They leave cities, such as Banghdad in which death squads-working under British and American direction- chase out non shia sects, driving them into the desert.
Not coincidentally the only source of good employment open to these refugee sunnis in Iraq is provided by the, NATO ally funded, ISIS and Al Qaeda militias. Such employment causes further flights of refugees, more ruined cities, more wrecked power stations and more economic migrants.
Who move quickly to the nearest safe havens, which are in the Balkans and southern Europe. Among the effects this has is the displacement of local populations- wave after wave of emigration, which, in time amounts to something very close to the floating armies of migrants of which the late Doris Lessing wrote in her Shikasta books.
Among these floating armies is the original US/Saudi invention a quarter of a million or so water boys for imperialism, serving the strategic purposes of NATO etc, on good salaries, with first class eq

Of these gentry Russia- which has experience of them- is rightly apprehensive and committed to nipping them in the Syrian bud.
If this leads to less fun for fans of ‘jihadi’ atrocities when they are carried out far away, that is good. It may assist in such idiots growing up.
Sorry about the double posting: to my amazement, just as I reached the point indicated by the break in the first post, a notice came up on my computer screen to the effect that “You have already said that. This is a duplicate posting!”

Just two comments on the AQ discussion on the Labour leadership were allowed right in the closing seconds. Isn’t that strange! AA was all about refugees and immigration.
One thought we should keep Trident – be prepared for the pesky Russians stuff but the final speaker made a good case for Jeremy’s election and the principles of socialism. We have to be thankful for small mercies.

The idiot is you Mr Postman for not recognising consistently that ignorance is in no short supply, and that includes amongst your American friends.
It just shows that you are a non-discerning buffoon.
Very glad to hear you’re getting the right sleep Mary and the quality of it!
I’d also recommend a vegetarian diet utc–lots lof lentils and legumes (chick peas/kidney beans/blacke eyed beans) for great sources of clean protein!
Best
I enjoyed your post Bevin – re Syria- the US phobia for ‘regime change’ now manic has affirmed agent Cameron’s contempt for a peace process in the haste with which Britain joined the US bombing mission on Syria.
President Vladimir Putin will visit the UN General Assembly in New York later this month to make a high-profile call for international cooperation to defeat the IS using evidence from satellite and HUMINT from spies and indeed an RAF wistle-blower to corroborate information that the US and Britain are air-dropping lethal supplies to ISIS.
Cameron and nasty band of jingoistic warmongers will pay the price for their containment strategy against Russia in Syria considering the dramatic change in the mood of the European countries that are beset with the Syrian refugee problem. The Schengen visa system, which has been the pride of the European Union and a symbol of European unity, has overnight packed up and border controls have reappeared across the region.
The appearance of women and their children distraught, wretched, bloodied, injured and dying while desperately fleeing from savages and barbarians in Syria is the undoing of this British government and I for one will pray this repulsive British regime is cut-down to it’s knees.
Scottish independence supporters hold anniversary rally
12 minutes ago / News
Supporters of Scottish independence have gathered for a large rally in Glasgow a year on from the referendum result.
Crowds of people carrying saltires and Yes banners gathered in the city’s George Square to hear dozens of speakers and bands at the Hope Over Fear rally.
Organisers said that thousands of people attended the event, which was designed to “make a clear statement that our journey to full independence for our nation continues”.

George Square rally marks referendum anniversary
3 hours ago
A large crowd has gathered in Glasgow’s George Square for a pro-independence rally one year after the referendum.
Organisers said they intended the Hope over Fear rally to send a message that the journey to Scottish independence continued.
The city of Glasgow voted in favour of independence at last year’s ballot.
Hope over Fear said it is an apolitical organisation, which evolved from Solidarity co-convener Tommy Sheridan’s referendum campaign speaking tour.

By default I saw GG on Sputnik on RT today.
For some time I’ve been wondering, I wonder if someone can help me. But, why is it that Lefties in general display sic poor aesthetics, in particular wrt their dress sense?
Even RT’s graphics are such a weird disaster–weird images reminiscent of the Induatrisl Revolution. And the opening music or whatever of Sputnik, it makes one cringe. Is it because of a lack of money? I don’t think so; just poor taste.
Even Craig, I have yet to see him aesthetically dressed, although I’m sure he will disagree. Even in that arsebook photo that Mary linked. I’m sure he’s wearing dark coloured trousers with a light jacket.
Corbyn the other day at the commemoration, open top button and loose tie. What was it? Was he wearing an undersized shirt or was he feeling jaded/uncomfortable. Neither bode well. Anyway I hope he will up his standards, although I give him full marks for his speech delivery–very authentic, sincere and for the most part, convincing. And I’m also glad that he stands in stark contrast to Cameron with regards to his body language and use of hands. Cameron is probably the most senior Blairite in the country and he’s copied Blair’s unconvincing style of hand sign-language. Don’t they learn better debating skills in Eton–I mean expressive language styles which don’t call for fingers, thumbs and hands constantly whipping (what is the correct word, someone please help?) around to make a point.
Anyway, what came up in that RT programme is that in 2020 if all goes according to plan, Osborne, devoid of any charisma imo, will be up against the straight-talking and thinking Corbyn. Hopefully Corbyn has his economic plans all sorted by then with books balanced.
As someone, who lives in the aesthetics world, I had to get this off my chest.

RobG you obviously love to shout your mouth off. I was wondering which one of the useful idiots would be the first to do so.
Being straight-thinking and talking and dressed with taste and time-and-place-for-everything-sense are not mutually exclusive. Ass!
Anyway you haven’t answered a single one of my questions. Don’t bother; I’m looking for intelligent comment.

Einstein was a scruff as well, particularly as he got older and wiser.
And believed that real beauty lay within.
What you’ve done above there Alcyone is confuse superficial beauty with inner beauty.
Strange for someone who claims to be a follower of Krishnamurti.
Here’s Ian Jack on Jeremy Corbyn versus Keir Hardie. I have added my comment on the bottom. I spelled my own name wrong (blush).

“Mr Jack, of approximately 1,300 words in this article, about 20% – some 250 words – can be said to be remotely concerned with Jeremy Corbyn. Most of those are about his vegetarianism, his non-drinking, and his beard.
Do you actually get paid a salary or a fee to write this rubbish? Why don’t you do something useful instead, like cleaning the Guardian’s toilets?”
Kind regards,

GG had that slimeball Damien McBride on. Remember him? Brown’s spinner. And Derek Draper.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damian_McBride
Jeremy would be well advised to stay well clear of the likes of them.
‘Damian McBride was special advisor to Gordon Brown as well as head of communication to the treasury. He has firsthand experience of hostile press coverage, which all seems apposite given the press aggression currently being levelled at Jeremy Corbyn. The new Labour leader ‘s victory is possibly the greatest political upset since Clement Attlee defeated the Great War leader Winston Churchill in 1945. But the triumph has also unleashed the most ferocious media assault in living memory. Damian McBride joins Sputnik to give his special advice to Jeremy Corbyn.’
