Selective Indignation 262

For his first nine years as Prime Minister, Tony Blair appointed NO women to any of the “Great offices of state” over which Corbyn is under such concerted media fire. And he had many less women in his shadow cabinet and cabinet. Yet there was virtually no media comment at all, and none of this line of right wing “feminists” lambasting him.

Explain.

We all come here, support, and add to what this blog is. And it seems to me the disparity with which people can influence this blog (who help make it what it is) is total.

Each times Craig want’s to post a topic he does so and we mostly try to move to that thread, as it is a public blog you’d think most people reading would click on the latest, it’s about some influence etc, so expected, Ok…..

It would be really nice if there was some constancy / structure that considered that reality. And yes, because of the way the flow goes each time we are promoted to change tac, not a bad thing necessarily, it’s never good to just go off on your own endless set of issues, but this is effectively what Craig has all the time. It must make him feel very good and important, But I question if that’s what this is meant to be about. And yea, a lot of them are inserting, have important information or insight.

But so are a lot of other peoples points btl. And to look at them as just ‘comments’ while Craig obviously doesn’t regard his as ‘comments’ or he’d post it as one.

And yes, it brings in questions of effectiveness.

1, Moral. Influence. input is more than ‘comments’ in reality IE when i’m screaming to take down a certain topic..But of course is was nothing to do with me it was taken down. Really i’m sure it wasn’t. Certainly not in Craigs head, I had nothing to do with it, I just make ‘comments’. It feels like a fundamentally degrading culture that takes place here, and it shows in others actions as i’v explained..It’s not surprising the culture that it is, and how things are painted, shamelessly. .

2, Perceived professionalism. This impacts readers and commenter’s, because again it’s about respecting effort that people put effort it. That a topic is not going change 4 times in a day.. I mean how many readers are going to be following that closely? They are not , they have other lives as we do. So why should I jump to the next post? is there going to be another 5 minutes later? I mean come on.

So what is it about? an internal discussion for those really interested in every thought Craig has? and sod the readers, or commentators with some self respect…

I think that’ll do for now, but i’d reiterate it’s not about me (though I am also human and have feelings) It’s about the effectiveness considering all people like that. And it’s not about my opinions, it’s abut the effectiveness of what anyone’s opinions on this blog might be. And with even minor empowerment maybe people would feel there own importance more and not just go along all the time. Not for some overall rebellion but because this is what acutely helps, is necessary for any good community space to flourish…and individuals I may add, we all need challenges..

And if it’s not a community space at all then I really don’t want to be part of it in any contributory way. So little point. And it’s an abuse.

Feel I repeated many points but it’s just a rough picture. I don’t do finished articles with words, the numbers where just for pretend structure. Don’t think they helped. lol

Jemand: “Errm.. Islam is not a race. It’s an idea.

I’d say it’s a delusion, actually, along with every other religious persuasion. Will you join me in the same denouncement of Christianity and Judaism?

Habbabkuk: “I wonder if you’d help me out again? I was just wondering when Craig started this blog and whether Mary was a commenter from the beginning (or if not, when she started commenting.

You can do the research for yourself very easily – just select from the “Archive” pull-down menu at the top left of the page, scroll to the bottom, and start working up from the oldest post. All the posts and comments are available from there.

Much as I’d like to oblige, my stats/analyser simply checked the contents of a given html page, and counted the number of authors with their contributions. It lacked the capacity to go delving into archives, sorry. I could write something that would do that, or indeed any other sort of of analysis you wanted, as comprehensive as you wish, on a consultancy basis if you are interested… ?

Good points in there..But i think constancy would always be a Challenge on a Blog like Craig’s – i don’t Know if you mean from Craig, or we posters.

Craig weave’s through many topics, Which is one of the reasons i Frequent the Blog, The other reason is that many of the Comments are Daily, Hourly so Informative.. Lots of Knowledge, and thoughtful Stuff…And as a Thread expands Often Snippets of Fun…So i think it can be Properly termed as a Community.

    Peace. to ya.

  • Ishmael

    “We all need each-other” agree..

And I once suggested that Criag do a rolling deleting of old ‘comments’ (after all they are just comments in the text from) thinking about people with vindictive intentions towards individuals, poking around in there Internet histories to get at them..

    Sickening, utterly sickening.

  • Jives

Bloody hilarious watchin the usual trolls bitchin bout protocol herein.

These slimeballs have multiple shifting identities,
e-mails and dishonest motives but they still bitch about non-level playing fields..

Piss off you self-reinforcing high-fiving circle jerkers…youre so bad at your attempted trolling propaganda its laughable.

    Pathetic amateur eejits.

  • glenn

“These slimeballs have multiple shifting identities, …”

Which posters are you thinking of, Jives?

  • glenn

Ishamel: “And I once suggested that Criag do a rolling deleting of old ‘comments’…

Would you care to nominate someone worthy of this position of “Censor In Chief” of yours, from among the esteemed company here?

  • glenn

Jives, 02:21 “Do i REALLY need to spell it out for you??

Please – if you would. Those among us a bit paranoid might otherwise think you’re talking about _us_, you see.

  • Jives

Rumours again sweeping the Westminster village tonight that al-Bin-Corbyn and his spectral Turrr$t evil mastermind cohorts are ready to launch WMD’s at London-and most probably The WHOLE WORLD!!-in 45 minutes.

Paul Dacre and/or Laura Kuenssberg are unwell.

  • Ishmael

Yea Brian, but if he wants it to be more consumable, inclusive (linked issues) then it may be worth some challenging work..

Yea it’s a fun ride for you in that way, but I don’t term it as a community as-is at all really, a clique yes, but spoiled potential imo. And again, because what I try and do is not about me, and it’s challenge if we do want to ‘improve’ at all, otherwise I can’t see any change coming to make me stay or sharpen my input. If it’s not shared etc,

And I am improving’ myself,,,(don’t like that word) if i’m going to treat issues we face with the importance they demand? Yea, it’s not about improving it’s about not being influenced by people/groups that negatively influence one’s own good nature and slowly turns you into whatever group habitual culture exists. It’s just not good for the soul, these cliques with vague objectives but hide all kinds of vampire like activity.

And they are mostly groups that claim to help people, religious groups, cults, government, police. But are they really alive and independent people with critical facilities? , that are critical to make sure it’s not doing more harm than good? Not self serving etc. Or is it just there to make people comfortable with familiar furniture, perceived good purpose etc.

Think there always a push pull in this anywhere, but yea, i’m not someone who just ‘comments’ or wants to anymore…More than the insight or what good I possibly imagine, I think i’m here our of a Habbit of being around some authoritarian I paint otherwise and really don’t think I ‘need it’..As if I ever needed it, but old habits *sigh*.

  • Ishmael

“Would you care to nominate someone worthy of this position of “Censor In Chief” of yours, from among the esteemed company here?”

It’s not about “Censor In Chief” but it shocks me not you came up with that. It would simply be a system of rolling deleting of older comments…A bit like a real conversation, you talk and the words don’t say around forever. Nobody needs ‘nominating’ as they don’t for snapchat. You pick a time limit. It’s not Censor either because it doesn’t stop anyone from posting…

What it may be encouraged for is the mass data collection abuse, possibility of governments to get worse than they already are in using this data, or individuals paid or otherwise working for them who think there is some goodness or legitimacy in these actions, that are often harming Innocent people standing up for justice.

Some often see in others what they are most guilty of…And then attempt to punish the victims or others, while projecting this image upon them….Seen it countess times, done it myself in ways.

  • BrianFujisan

    Now then Ishael.

Yea it’s a fun ride for you in that way, but I don’t term it as a community as-is at all really, a clique yes,

    (1) I’m Certain that you miss my Point

    (2) I first came here cos it is one of the joints to get real news..Craig’s Inside Intel..Ect.And research Extras. From Posters.

( 3 ) Fun.. Get a Grip… I said as the Threads Go into Many page’s..And we can Even Get Xmas Presents…Hope you are Working on that Node

  • Ishmael

I think you missed the finer points of all mine Brian. Never said some of Craigs post’s where not good intel, all ‘real news’ ? Or is it what you said before about weaving narrative?

Your really not engaging with the subjects, contradictory, this isn’t about point’s scoring to me Brian. And I have my own family for xmas presents. If your not going to seriously take things in, But what’s the point, you already haven’t and what am I doing here.

You illustrate the incoherent clique this blog is very well.

Your host has certain areas he can’t reach easily, like just under the shoulder blades, or maybe other places I haven’t found yet. You have to place your proboscis unnoticed from behind while he is reading/ fuming over the Guardian on the loo. But of course if you are hoping to get swatted, carry on the same.

  • Ishmael

I don’t want to cause permanent damage to anyones perceptions of things so better go. And it’s not helping me either feeling like lots of wasted effort, hope not all is but yea, new horizons. Ill keep an eye in. Stay well

  • Ishmael

    “carry on the same.”

Can’t force really, gota come there himself. Id rather leave my huge effort to sit here, need to get out and change my life again. Done what I can. i’m only me.

The wurlitzer is frantically trying to get Corbyn off the offensive. Let’s hope he keeps blowing off more and more of his sensible stinkers. It would be great fun to hear Mr. Corbyn dust off some of the wartime guns-or-butter rhetoric: the pledge to “lighten for peace-loving peoples the crushing burden of armaments” from The Atlantic Charter, or to minimize “diversion of the world’s human and economic resources for armaments” in the Moscow Declaration; or even that obvious truth from the League of Nations Charter that got deep-sixed: “the manufacture by private enterprise of munitions and implements of war is open to grave objections.”

Much of this is drawn together anew in the Santiago Declaration on the Right to Peace, with some very subversive wrinkles: victim’s rights, rights to disobedience, resistance, non-participation, and the right to refuse taxes for military purposes. Invoke the right to peace, and watch them go berserk.

The crosshairs are on John McDonnell today.

    For example

Swimming In Vomit And Assassinating Thatcher: Meet John McDonnell

    I didn’t watch it obviously.

Later the young royal hero of the Afghan war will be taking part in the Battle of Britain commemoration flight, Cameron and Corbyn will attend a service where the tabloid interest will be on what Corbyn is wearing (tie or no tie especially important) and later when Corbyn is in Brighton at the TUC conference, emphasis on any differences that arise will be reported at length.

Kuenssberg will be alongside Jeremy throughout. Would a charm offensive on her by Jeremy work? Probably not.

  • Mary

Speaking of Afghanistan, this is the tragic result of the heroin trail all the way back to Woking (in leafy Surrey).

Seven drug deaths in Woking prompts action from authorities
    13 September 2015
    By Rebecca Shepherd
Experts warned it had been unusually easy to buy heroin over the past year

    Note the homelessness too.

All the council will do is to issue restriction orders. There is little mental health provision in Surrey now. Virgincare have the community NHS services now.

“I don’t quite see how wearing a suit and bowing solemnly at the Cenotaph makes a politician a hypocrite.”
    ………………………………………………………………………………..

I saw the Prince of Darkness, with his Staff,
    Standing bare-headed by the Cenotaph.
    Unostentatious and respectful, there
He stood, and offered up the following prayer:

Make them forget, O Lord, what this Memorial
    Means; their discredited ideas revive;
Breed new belief that War is purgatorial
    Proof of the pride and power of being alive;
    Men’s biologic urge to readjust
    The Map of Europe, Lord of Hosts, increase;
    Lift up their hearts in large destructive lust;
And crown their heads with blind vindictive Peace.

The Prince of Darkness to the Cenotaph
Bowed. As he walked away I heard him laugh.
