The dreadfully stultified pageantry of the British state has been on full display the last couple of days, all mouldy ermine, fraying gold braid and musty velvet. But forms which evolved as a vibrant display of Imperial might have transmuted into rituals of obeisance, as the nonogenerian Prince Philip stumbles behind the Chinese President along lines of men wearing decaying bears on their heads. The sickness of Britain’s monarchical system was never more bluntly revealed than by the rictus grins of the aristocratic clowns balancing their tiaras at the state banquet.
The Chinese are the imperial masters now. Cameron begs them to build a nuclear power station for which the British state guarantees it will pay double the market price for electricity produced, for twenty years. And a government which has just announced the extension of thought crime to the expression of non-violent or anti-violent thought deemed “extreme”, has no locus to talk about human rights, a concept at least as alien to Teresa May as it is to the Chinese Communist Party. Britain has its own war criminals like Blair and Straw running around, immune and very wealthy.
The British state is an immoral entity which I view with disgust. That is what drives for me the imperative to early Scottish Independence to be rid of it. Every day as a British citizen is like bathing in sewage.

*Since Taveta Investments is owned by Tina Green, who resides in Monaco, protestors claim that the couple avoid paying £285 million in UK personal income tax, that would be payable if a UK resident owned the company. In November 2005, Sir Philip approved a dividend payout that benefitted his family via Taveta/Tina Green by £1.2bn, paid for by a loan taken out by Arcadia, cutting Arcadia’s corporation tax as interest charges on the loan were offset against profits. The payout was the biggest annual dividend payout to an individual by a British company.

The French get about 85% of their electricity from nuclear power stations and, fractious as they usually are, nevertheless seem perfectly happy with that.

Well Habb, it’s not all sweetnessand light, the French’s love affair with nuclear could be waning.
France derives about 75% of its electricity from nuclear energy, due to a long-standing policy based on energy security. This share is to be reduced to 50% by 2025.
In October 2014 an Energy Transition for Green Growth bill was passed by the National Assembly and so went on to the Senate.
This set a target of 50% for nuclear contribution to electricity supply by 2025, with a nuclear power capacity cap at the present level of 63.2 GWe, meaning that EDF would have to shut at least 1,650 GW of nuclear capacity at the end of 2016 when its Flamanville 3 EPR was scheduled to start commercial operation.

It was Scots geologist Hugh Miller who first found oil in North sea rocks, fast forward to 1969 and Amoco discovered oil in a well, 220 miles off Aberdeen, Amoco took a sample of oil to its headquarters at Great Yarmouth, in a pickle jar of all things.
It didn’t take long for the Westminster lickspittles, to crow, in 1977 James Callaghan said ” God has given Britain her best opportunity for 100 years.”
Tony Benn, who was Energy Minister two years earlier declared “Oil is far more significant and historic than the moon shot.” Benn was always a blowhard.
Predictably the Westminster establishment of many decades has wasted and squandered this finite natural resource, and such monumental ineptness, has left Britain one of only a few nations, without an oil fund.

The entire global recession of 2008 was a consequence of Mrs Thatcher’s brainless stupidity, marketed at the time as: ‘If you don’t pay people who love money enough they’ll steal it’.
Why did it take a global crash for the market forces dunces to understand what market forces means?: The people who want money the most should be prevented from having access to it by all means possible, and if allowed mear it only under the strictest control.

You obviously haven’t got a clue, RoS. Just admit it, you were talking bollocks again.
Behold: a Britain where a woman has to convince job-centre staff she’s been raped so that her child can eat.
Poor children are to be made poorer unless their mothers can prove that they were raped.
Sometimes all it takes is one sub-clause of a single policy to show the true face of an administration, and this nasty little addendum to the Welfare Reform and Work Bill is shocking in its casual cruelty.
It appears this government has distance itself or probably unaware of Nussbaum’s principles that secures a capability threshold for all citizens in a true democracy:
Life. Being able to live to the end of a human life of normal length; not dying prematurely, or before one’s life is so reduced as to be not worth living.
Bodily Health. Being able to have good health, including reproductive health; to be adequately nourished; to have adequate shelter.
Bodily Integrity. Being able to move freely from place to place; to be secure against violent assault, including sexual assault and domestic violence; having opportunities for sexual satisfaction and for choice in matters of reproduction.
One must keep in mind the Tory Party guiding philosophy: There is no money, except for people we like.

Gyiane you may find this rather implausible but America, specifically California, led the way in the electric car production as far back as the 80’s possibly earlier.
It was all looking rather rosy in California, as they were way out in front of the field in producing viable electric cars.
All they needed was backing and investment from the local governing bodies, alas those officals were knobbled by the big car industries and the oil industry.
Who knows how many great ideas are sitting in the likes of GM’S and Fords filing cabinets, for good clean fuel engines, never to see the light of day, because they’d damage profits of the car and oil industry.

Are we so short of people that potential mothers should be encouraged to breed to the maximum that they desire, with no means whatsoever to pay for them? Is it fair that the rest of us should have to fork out for someone who wants to act as a baby factory?

A detailed report on how those who help refugees in Germany, from politicians down to those who organise volunteers and have been welcoming refugees and immigrants for years, and on the threats they experience by supporters of the right wing PEGIDA movement and others.
The security services are aware that there are many right wing elements, some at very important positions in industry, society and in the public services, still, so they are holding back with any harder responses to the outright terror these groups spread.

Yes Fred we know, no need to keep parroting the bleeding obvious, thankfully Scotland’s oil and gas sector is a bonus and not the main stay of the economy.
ith oil prices remaining well below last year’s levels in recent months, the impact of low oil prices will continue to have a material bearing on economic conditions in Scotland, with both positive and negative implications.
External risks are likely to remain present over the course of 2015, with global demand conditions influenced by slowing growth in emerging markets, the fallout from subdued growth, financial volatility and currency depreciation in China, and the expected rise in US interest rates as the Federal Reserve looks to begin normalising monetary policy.
The outlook for the Euro Area economy is generally positive but the situation in Greece remains a significant challenge.
Nevertheless, underlying data and forecasts point to a positive outlook for the rest of this year. The most recent independent forecasts expect growth in the Scottish economy of around 2.4 per cent in 2015, which is broadly in line with the expected performance of the UK as a whole.
