The dreadfully stultified pageantry of the British state has been on full display the last couple of days, all mouldy ermine, fraying gold braid and musty velvet. But forms which evolved as a vibrant display of Imperial might have transmuted into rituals of obeisance, as the nonogenerian Prince Philip stumbles behind the Chinese President along lines of men wearing decaying bears on their heads. The sickness of Britain’s monarchical system was never more bluntly revealed than by the rictus grins of the aristocratic clowns balancing their tiaras at the state banquet.
The Chinese are the imperial masters now. Cameron begs them to build a nuclear power station for which the British state guarantees it will pay double the market price for electricity produced, for twenty years. And a government which has just announced the extension of thought crime to the expression of non-violent or anti-violent thought deemed “extreme”, has no locus to talk about human rights, a concept at least as alien to Teresa May as it is to the Chinese Communist Party. Britain has its own war criminals like Blair and Straw running around, immune and very wealthy.
The British state is an immoral entity which I view with disgust. That is what drives for me the imperative to early Scottish Independence to be rid of it. Every day as a British citizen is like bathing in sewage.
Giyane: “…can’t see any holes to squirt wd40 in except the pressure sensor hole. ”
Why would you want to apply WD40? That is a moisture dispeller, not a lubricant – certainly not one you’d want in a valve. If you have a replacement valve (and you think that’s what you need), are you going to fit it? Does the boiler actually run, by the way, and it’s just not heating the house the way you’d expect?
This conversation might be better taken to some plumbing site, where they’d love it, I’m sure.

Thanks for the link. I enjoyed the presentation by the pretty Jewish lady and her lovely appearance and manner helped the hour to slide by quite effortlessly and some of the points to sink in, this being an effective propaganda technique. If you had shown my friend Bunny la Roche making the exact same presentation it would have received much higher scrutiny, but such is the nature of man and of propaganda that the young Jewish girl could have told me the world was flat and I would have nodded along approvingly.
One could not help but sympathise with the plight of the Palestinians as portrayed in the video, but a great deal of Palestinian violence was left out; the terrorist attacks, suicide bombings, rocket attacks and incidents of “sudden jihad” such as we have seen lately were all but glossed over, as was the virulent anti-Jewish nature of Hamas. Instead the Palestinians were portrayed purely as victims, despite so many generations of tit for tat violence, meaning that this video is just the other side’s propaganda.
So a great effort from Pallywood, almost had me fooled.
PS, What is it the Americans and Israel are trying to ban exactly? I can’t see any reference to this in your comment or the video.
Giyane
I’ve noticed that when the white ‘revert’ tries to grow a beard, he can barely manage more than a sprouting of bumfluff, which, along with the pallid complexion resulting from hours of sitting in front of a computer screen reading jihadist websites, and the joyless and dead expression indicating total indoctrination, makes for a most unattractive look, bound to stand out down at the mosque or in the bazaar.
Do you have any tips for the revert on how to achieve a proper manly bristle? Or is there perhaps a relevant passage from the holy texts which disqualifies the believer from more northerly climes from having to express his devotion in such a way? I know they have trouble in Indonesia in this regard so there is certainly nothing new about the problem.

Well Fred here is the Transport Minister Keith Brown explaining why TATA Steel didn’t play a larger role in the construction of the bridge.
http://www.transportscotland.gov.uk/news/statement-behalf-minister-transport-keith-brown-and-tata-steel
It follows recent speculation that Tata Steel had bid for the fabrication of structural steelwork as part of the ongoing procurement process for the Forth Replacement Crossing’s Principal Contract, which is being delivered by the Forth Crossing Bridge Constructors (FCBC) consortium.
It was confirmed that Tata Steel only played “an indirect” role in tendering for the supply of steel plate for the project. Contrary to misleading speculation, there were no Scottish bids for FCBC’s steel fabrication subcontracts. Tata Steel’s plant in Motherwell manufactures steel plate, it is not a steel fabricator.
No doubt in your mind Fred that Keith Brown is liar…….why do I even bother.
“And yet he’s not Scottish and doesn’t even live in Scotland. We’re dealing with extreme anti-English self-hate here guys.”

Nor the braindead sectarian societies like the Orange Order who bring nothing but shame on Scotland.
As for your assertation I’m anti-English, utter tosh, I’ve never criticised the good people of England, only their government and its perfidious security sevices
Do at least try and pay attention Anon1.
“No doubt in your mind Fred that Keith Brown is liar…….why do I even bother.”
He’s a politician using typical weasel politician words.
Tata steel is an Indian company, they bid as part of a consortium, they did not get the contract and now they are closing their steel plants in Scotland.
Do you understand now?

England doesn’t have a government.
JEREMY Corbyn is set to miss the headline debate on scrapping Trident at this week’s Scottish Labour conference, it has emerged.
The UK leader will address delegates at the start of the three-day event in Perth on Friday.
But despite saying earlier this year that, win or lose the Labour leadership, he would attend specifically for the Trident debate, Corbyn is due to leave town before it comes up.
It appears that Corbyn is running scared, on the issue of Trident, a matter that he knows will tear his party apart.
At the UK Labour conference last month, Corbyn’s hope of a Trident debate fell apart after activists refused to allow a debate on the matter.
It then emerged that, despite Corbyn’s opposition, his conference had backed Trident by approving Labour’s “Britain in the World” policy document, which includes a commitment to “credible, independent nuclear capability, delivered through a continuous at-sea deterrent.

Did Tata Steel bid to supply the steel for the Queensferry Crossing whether directly or indirectly as part of a consortium?
A simple yes or no will suffice.
An astonishing revelation from a previous Governor General to Scotland and self admitted liar over Frenchgate.
David Cameron is “systematically undermining and destroying” the Union with English votes for English laws, former Scottish Secretary Alistair Carmichael warned.
Carmichael told the Scottish LibDem conference that Evel had been “bulldozed” through parliament in an “act of wanton constitutional vandalism” on Thursday.
The change, which gives English MPs a veto over English-only laws, was achieved by adding 17 pages to the Commons rule book instead of through substantive legislation.
Carmichael said Evel had “politicised” the Commons speaker, who must rule which laws are English-only, and “created two classes of MP”, adding: “It’s a disgrace.
How on earth will wee John Bercow determine which is which, he can’t even keep his wife under control.
Einstein said words to the effect: There are only two ways to live your life; one is that everything is a miracle, the other is that nothing is a miracle. In other words, all roads lead to Rome.
Another critical fact to understand is that all knowledge is limited. [That is why I laugh sometimes here seeing people display their historical knowledge or lack of it and try to score points over each other. This is why the bulk of comments here are so petty. And one has to ask the fundamental question, to what end?]
Back to knowledge: by definition we can not know everything. No matter if you have an Einsteinian brain, when you’ve finished discovering something, it becomes part of the bank of knowledge, and now there is something more to know. So there will always be the Unknown.
It is pertinent, however, to ask a few questions, or indeed, even many questions but pertinent ones please.
Is information or understanding received through insight, local or non-local?
What is the ‘mechanism’ through which that communication happens?
Are the atoms and sub-atoms within me in communication, external to me? If so, what is the ‘mechanism’ through which that communication happens?
How many dimensions are there in the Universe? In the Multiverse?
How many of those dimensions operate at a purely sub-atomic level?
String and superstring theories postulate 10-11 dimensions.

As far as I can see Blair hasn’t apologised for anything. Saying, ‘I apologise for the fact that the intelligence we received was wrong’ is categorically not an apology, it’s another self justification and exculpation.
He’s backtracked a little on his denial that he was in any way responsible for the rise of Daesh, and he’s dug himself in slightly deeper with his admission that he hadn’t a clue about how the aftermath would go. The Powell email places him as reassurer-in-chief to Bush on this particular aspect. Otherwise, it is the failed lawyer we know and detest blairing along familiar lines.
It does suggest that he is now a worried man, however. Good. Hope his ulcer eats him alive.
Thank you very much for this excellent link Beth, just watched it and she comes over as very factual, with experience of the ME, not just Israel.
She explains the stealing of land and how it is appropriated by the whole system, using the judiciary courts and harassment, very long but very well done.
As Anon1 does not like it, its obvious as he usually can’t express more than three lines out of two brain cells, I made sure to share it on FB. Thank you for giving some impetus to my actions, anon1,
‘Spooky Action” sounds more like String Theory than Quantum.
Time:
“How does it work? Easy: First quantum stuff happens, then more quantum stuff follows and there are lots of equations that explain it all but they’d definitely give you a headache and they’d make you feel lazy for taking a gut major like political science as an undergrad—or at least that’s how they make me feel—so spare yourself that.”
Yup, that’s what I was thinking…. 🙂
“n the early twentieth century, Einstein and his contemporaries were busy figuring out the quantum nature of the electron. They realized a consequence of their developing theory was that no two particles of matter, including electrons, could share all the same quantum numbers at the same time. This is the essence of the Pauli exclusion principle. It means that only two electrons can share a single energy orbital in an atom.”
http://sciexplorer.blogspot.com/2013/02/electrons-strings-and-spooky-action.html
Even in the Nehterlands scientists are desperate to keep Quantum mechanics from being replaced by String Theory just as the former replaced Newtonian physics.
anon1, you’re a liar, you didnt watch the video. If you had you would have learned how she slowly came to realise the extent of the barbaric occupation and the despicable treatment of the Palestinians. Concluding it to be propaganda is totally dishonest. Try to watch this, Gideon Levy sums it up superbly:

Quefithe.
(from: Genius, by James Gleick [1992]). I think the original author was Murray Gell-Mann, but I am not sure.
—————————————-
Once (and it was not yesterday), there lived a very young mole and a very young crow who, having heard of the fabulous land called Quefithe, decided to visit it. Before starting out, they went to the wise owl and asked what Quefithe was like.
Owl’s description of Quefithe was quite confusing. He said that in Quefithe everything was both up and down. If you knew where you were, there was no way of knowing where you were going and conversely, if you knew where you were going, there was no way of knowing where you were…
Clearly, if they were ever going to learn anything about Quefithe, they had to see it for themselves. And that is what they did.
After a few years had passed, the mole came back. He said that Quefithe consisted of lots of tunnels. One entered a hole and wandered through a maze, tunnels splitting and rejoining, until one found the next hole and got out. Quefithe sounded like a place only a mole would like, and nobody wanted to hear more about it.
Not much later the crow landed, flapping its wings and crowing excitedly. Quefithe was amazing, it said. The most beautiful landscape with high mountains, perilous passes and deep valleys. The valley floors were teeming with little moles who were scurrying down rutted paths. The crow sounded like he had taken too many bubble baths, and many who heard him shook their heads. The frogs kept on croaking “It is not rigorous, it is not rigorous!”… But there was something about crow’s enthusiasm that was infectious.
The most puzzling thing about it all was that the mole’s description of Quefithe sounded nothing like the crow’s description. Some even doubted that the mole and the crow had ever gotten to the mythical land. Only the fox, who was by nature very curious, kept running back and forth between the mole and the crow and asking questions, until he was sure that he understood them both. Nowadays, anybody can get to Quefithe – even snails.

John Spencer-Davis, we cross-posted.
Give me a moment to absorb your post.
You nailed it RobG.
String Theory scares the shite out of them because they think it leads to Determinism, and it does to an extent. They don’t see the exotic science as supporting their need for Free Will and also won’t recognize how BOTH D. and FW could co-exist.
Of course part of the problem with traditional logic is that such exotic science seems to pair with a Cosmology that escapes the six senses.

I don’t think it matters. I don’t pretend to understand quantum physics or electrodynamics or chromodynamics or string theory or brane theory. Total mystery to me.
I just like the little fairy story.
Kind regards,
