The dreadfully stultified pageantry of the British state has been on full display the last couple of days, all mouldy ermine, fraying gold braid and musty velvet. But forms which evolved as a vibrant display of Imperial might have transmuted into rituals of obeisance, as the nonogenerian Prince Philip stumbles behind the Chinese President along lines of men wearing decaying bears on their heads. The sickness of Britain’s monarchical system was never more bluntly revealed than by the rictus grins of the aristocratic clowns balancing their tiaras at the state banquet.
The Chinese are the imperial masters now. Cameron begs them to build a nuclear power station for which the British state guarantees it will pay double the market price for electricity produced, for twenty years. And a government which has just announced the extension of thought crime to the expression of non-violent or anti-violent thought deemed “extreme”, has no locus to talk about human rights, a concept at least as alien to Teresa May as it is to the Chinese Communist Party. Britain has its own war criminals like Blair and Straw running around, immune and very wealthy.
The British state is an immoral entity which I view with disgust. That is what drives for me the imperative to early Scottish Independence to be rid of it. Every day as a British citizen is like bathing in sewage.
ZIONISTS LIE ABOUT THE HOLOCAUST TO JUSTIFY GENOCIDE OF PALESTINIANS
Sorry, I should have made clear that the statement above is the opinion of leading Jewish historians and politicians, and does not necessarily represent the views of anyone associated with this blog.
The Governor Generals Office to Scotland has been rebranded to, The UK Government for Scotland.
Are the Tories trying to make David Mundell seem more appealing, to Scots, an impossible task.

Fedup / Node… Re the Mufti chap –
Netanyahu to be Arrested for Holocaust denial
On Wednesday, October 21st, 2015 in Blog, News.
Finkelstein comments: I received this link and email from my old friend and comrade Gavin Everall. The classic and still authoritative study of the Nazi holocaust is Raul Hilberg’s 3-volume THE DESTRUCTION OF THE EUROPEAN JEWS. The Mufti of Jerusalem’s role in the extermination is mentioned in all of one sentence: “on May 13, 1943, the exiled Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Amin el Husseini, who had thrown in his lot with the Axis, wrote to the Foreign Office that 4,000 Jewish children accompanied by 500 adults had recently reached Palestine, and for that reason reason he asked the German foreign Minister ‘to do his utmost’ (das Ausserste zu tun) to prevent further departures from Bulgaria, Romania, and Hungary” (p. 846). When I once asked Hilberg whether the Mufti influenced Hitler, he scoffed at the notion that Hitler would pay heed to the advice of an Arab, calling it “unlikely.”
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/benjamin-netanyahu-blames-holocaust-on-palestinian-leader-haj-amin-al-husseini-a6702091.html
So does this make Netanyahu an anti-semitic holocaust denier, under at least point 5 of the Working definition of Holocaust Denial and Distortion:
5. Attempts to blur the responsibility for the establishment of concentration and death camps devised and operated by Nazi Germany by putting blame on other nations or ethnic groups.
With all good wishes, in again very bad times.

Rest in Peace Hashem Azzeh
” In many ways, Hashem was Hebron’s unofficial spokesperson. Only this past Saturday, October 17, he was quoted in a piece for the Middle East Eye, describing the impunity with which settlers in the Old City have been killing young Palestinians: “The settlers feel confident that they have a free pass to kill Palestinians here,” he said. “We have asked the soldiers to help stop the settlers but they said it’s not their role and that we should leave the city.”

Bathing in sewage? I didn’t know you’d worked in Hull Health Authority ;O))
All states are fascist, the differences between them are the categories of people they kill and the lies they tell about it.
So when you got tired of listening to scrappies laughing at you down the phone what would you do then?
Tell them the nickel and cobalt content.
What you have to understand is that RobG posts for fun – as does Republicofscotland (who is not Scottish and lives in England).

A splendid series of posts, Habbabkuk. You have cut right through them. No wonder KLOWN thought there were three of you.

Why thank you, Anon1, that is very gracious of you! 🙂
I liked yours about Laura and President Xi (and the follow up).

Oh please, pass the sick bucket.
Here we come to the crux of the matter, trying to discus real world issues with fantasists who create their own fantasy world as they go along.
Sorry Fred, this discussion is over until you learn to stick to the facts without making personal attacks.
Some of this debate has been quite acrimonious. Still ongoing.
MPs debating ‘English votes’ plans

A row has erupted over plans to bring in “English votes for English laws”, as MPs debate the proposals.
MPs from English seats will get an effective veto on bills that apply to England only under the plans.
Ministers say their “fair and balanced” proposals will “give the English more say over their own destiny”.
But Labour and the SNP oppose the plans. The SNP said they “simply exacerbate the further alienation of Scotland from the UK Parliament”.

“I like the first lie – that she was named after Sir Edmund Hillary, famous for being the first to climb Mt Everest, when she was born six years before he was heard of.”

While I’m happy to believe that Mrs Clinton was not named after Sir Edmund Hillary, I must take issue with the last few words of the above extract.
Edmund Hillary was well-known in the mountaineering world well before his ascent of Everest. It is therefore wrong to conclude on chronological grounds that she could not have been named after him.
You are, as usual, trying to bolster a half-ways accurate comment by adding a bit of cheap nonsense.

Second Habbabkuk tip to Mary: it is silly and counter-productive to over-egg the pudding.
Is that the female division Ba’al? 🙂
No, the League aupporters. One of them got your identical email…won’t link as his name was on it too. That’ll be the PR team responding to Russophiles everywhere.

Well, RoS, I seem to recall that you have actually adlotted, after questioning, that you are not Scottish and do not live in Scotland.
But I may be imagining that.
So do set the record straight and tell us whether
1/. you are Scottish
2/. you live in England or Scotland.
“adlotted” = “admitted”
“How many MW are produced by all the wind turbines and solar energy farms in the UK?”
That question doesn’t really make much sense, as it confuses power with energy, and nameplate capacity is a deeply flawed metric when looking at renewables. However, if you are actually interested in how renewables contribute to the UK energy mix, the information is not hard to find: https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/energy-trends-section-6-renewables
“Renewable electricity generation was 19.9 TWh in 2015 Q2 […]
Onshore wind generation increased by 62 per cent, from 3.0 TWh in 2014 Q2 to 4.9 TWh in 2015 Q2. Offshore wind increased from 2.1 TWh to 3.6 TWh, an increase of 70 per cent. Solar PV more than doubled from 1.5 TWh to 3.2 TWh […]
Renewable electricity capacity was 28.4 GW at the end of 2015 Q2.”

Thank you for that.
Your extracts seem to focus on the increase in the contribution of renewables as from Q2 2014 to Q2 2015.
However, the link itself says that in 2014 as a whole total renewable generation was 64,7 TWh.*
I wonder if you would be kind enough to tell me what your link (presumably in a different section which I am incapable of accessing – sorry!) gives as the figure for total generation for 2014 from fossile fuel powered installations?
Idem from nuclear power installations.
Thank you.

Habb the presumer.
I shouldn’t need to tell you, you’ve already proclaimed where I’m from.
You really are a presumptious big mouthed fool.
I think it time you informed all asunder where you are from.
“The constant negative propaganda about China is irritating. There is never ever anything positive about China or Chinese people on the UK MSM. This is not how the rest of the world (I mean Asia, Africa, ‘Latin’ America, etc.) sees China. For mutual self-interest, China actually is doing more good in Africa right now than we’ve done in 200 years, for example. China did not invade and destroy four Middle Eastern countries over the past 12 years. Yes, I know about Tibet.”
——
Oh, yeah, China is doing great in Africa (and elsewhere) — facilitating the extinctions of irreplaceable, magnificent beasts and peak predators for their consumption in quack medications and prestigious dishes at corporate banquets.
But who cares when you live in an anthropocentric bubble?
China’s doing great.
China’s ruling elite are a capitalist plutocracy posing as a Communist country.
The Tiananmen massacre, crushed the democrstic process in China.
Only one Chinese has ever won the Nobel Peace Prize, and he’s still rotting in a communist jail.
There is increasing suppression of Chinese who merely wish to practice their religion in peace and in private.
Environmental crimes by Chinese-government-owned firms threaten the health and safety of hundreds of millions of Chinese citizens and increasingly affect those downwind and downriver.
Execution of prisoners for their valuable body parts continues.
Increasing party efforts to eradicate Tibetan culture and religious life lead to self-immolations by Tibetan young people out of despair.
Chinese people will have had no voice in who has been pre-selected for them by the Chinese Communist Party.
They will not even know what policies he favors or opposes. The new Chinese Communist Party leader will head the alliance of nondemocratic regimes.
Yeah China is doing great alright.
Habbabkuk – I really do have better things to do with my time than look up easily-available statistics for you. Do you not have access to a search engine or something?
Anyway, since you asked nicely, and just this once, this is what I have handy for Q2 2015:
“Shares of generation in the second quarter of 2015 compared with a year earlier – Coal 20.5% (down 8pp), gas 30.2% (no change), nuclear 21.5% (down 1pp), renewables (wind, hydro & bioenergy) 25.3% (up 9pp). Overall low carbon generation was 46.8%.”
Total generation for Q2 2015 was 78.75 TWh. You can do the rest of the sums yourself.
If you want the rest of the figures for 2014, stop being lazy and go look them up yourself. I’m off to the pub.
https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/electricity-section-5-energy-trends
Oh, and while you’re right that looking at capacity is useless (especially WRT to renewables) you do also need to bear in mind the distinction between generation and supply. We are interconnected with the rest of Europe, so we can both export and import electricity.
Was adlotted a mistake or is it in use in some vernacular somewhere? I like the sound.
“Tell them the nickel and cobalt content.”
Makes no difference to them they can’t get it out. They only buy what they can sell
and there is no commercial market for old lithium batteries in the UK. When electric cars become more common somebody might start one but right now the suppliers are legally obliged to collect and dispose of them.
leaves to be seen whether this Government will demand access to the current Chinese nuclear program to see whether they learn from their previous mistakes and improve their designs.
One would not want to buy a pig in a poke.
@ Ba’al Chinas global efforts to provide themselves with what they need, just as everyone else does, comes with plenty of infrastructure education, railways, airports etc. Western developments are all designed to put African countries into a dependency, ain’t that right Baroness Amos?, so we can continually suck them dry, ideally sell them some arms and complicated radar system they don’t need and and.
Yawn, this is all old stuff and known, China does not do anything different. And don’t forget how many British companies producing their wares in China, they do the polluting for us and reap the consequences.
Another small point, Raspberry pie’s at first have been produced in China, but it was too far, the chain of command was easier here, so they re-settled in South Wales.
They are now producing them here, for the same price they can make them in China, now there is a lesson for the Tory’s, entice and repatriate the Dyson’s of this world and start manufacturing here. But they are not even trying, preferring to sell their arses to the first b…ch that comes along looking shifty.
High levels of troll activity on here today.
