BBC Bias 763

I am involved quite extensively in the making of what I believe to be a valuable independent documentary. It is based on George Ponsonby’s excellent book London Calling, and has the working title How the BBC Stole the Referendum. We have already done a few hours filming of my contribution.

The film is being directed by Alan Knight. It still requires some finance, having raised over £12,000 so far from crowd sourcing. If any readers of this blog can make a contribution, it would be gratefully received. I vouch for the good faith and commitment of the production team, though I am not in any sense connected with the management or finances.

I should like to ask for a couple of other bits of help as well. Can anybody find the BBC footage of the appalling Gavin Esler puff piece for the “Vote No Borders” PR campaign. The BBC broadcast it repeatedly on every TV news programme on 2 May 2014, but seem to have managed to erase all trace of it from the internet. It might also be useful if somebody could take a little video footage of the company nameplate of Acanchi Ltd at 24 Chiswell Street, London, EC2Y 4YX. Footage of the nameplate, the street sign and a little of the surroundings, just to visually establish it is in London. The technical quality of that little bit of video is not terrifically important.

UPDATE

See Gill R’s comment below. The company may be at Unit 311 Business Design Centre, 52 Upper Street, London N1 0QH. If anyone can easily get to either address and see what they can film it would still be helpful.

Chance for another dig at Mary Glenn, How noble of you. Maybe the reasons are exactly the reasons she gave…She was far to good for this place anyway, it stinks.

Rumbled, I suspect your close to the mark. Paymasters, is there any none fascist funding nowadays?

  • Ishmael

Makes me wonder about other things also. Like comments i’v made about Craig, that I would remove if I could (very hard, and hard to make) they stay up.

  • Ishmael

If Craig has any honor left, he should close down this blog and contribute to offGuardian or others, there are others.

Alcoyne – You should try to keep abreast of the news.

A couple of weeks ago Turkey shot down a Russian plane. This had consequences including the cancellation of the proposed South Stream project.

Turkey was the chosen route for this project only because the EU put pressure on Bulgaria to deny access – which they did. Why would the EU do this? How can it be in the intersts of the EU to make it more difficult for itself to access gas that it requires.

Take a look at the objections raised for the Nordstream project principally by Estonia and Sweden. Some reasonable, some puerile. (There is a lor that could be said about Sweden – but why bother as Sweden is at the end stages of self destruction)

Oh look here comes the US complaining that any expansion to Nordstream could deprive Ukraine of USD 2 billion pa in transit fees. What is any of this got to do with the US? Oh yes I forgot, this is the same US that recently authorised the IMF to ignore its own rules and advance more money to Ukraine even though they are in the process of repudiating their debts to Russia.

…and of course the US cares so much about Ukraine that it is financing terrorists in Syria to overthrow Assad principally to clear the way for a gas pipeline from Qatar to Europe – thus ensuring that Europe does not need Russian gas. If this policy works then it will be time to throw Ukraine under the bus.

Thanks for the update, Node. You missed last night’s two Apache attacks in Gaza, however – the usual proportional response to a homemade rocket landing in an Israeli field. Extensive damage, apparently.

This is intriguing (anyone see it in the UK media?):

    http://www.jpost.com/Arab-Israeli-Conflict/IDF-officer-apprehended-in-Britain-on-war-crimes-allegations-from-Gaza-war-437152

The reserves officer was questioned for hours and was only released following Foreign Ministry intervention.

The British authorities subsequently apologized to the officer.

It is thought that the officer’s name was on a list prepared by pro-Palestinian groups naming IDF soldiers involved in alleged war crimes during Operation Protective Edge.

The Foreign Ministry on Saturday evening confirmed the details of the incident and stressed that the officer was released only due to its intervention.

What is it that makes certain people gang-up to complain so much about Mary’s posts, but remain relatively quite, or even supportive, of the blantant Real Deal Trolls posting here in obvious bad faith ?

One suspect the answer is provided by Glenn, who is bright enough to realise that for example ROS is dim enough to effectively act as a troll, but not bright enough to realise that he himself is not really different, and certainly not immune to shallow-minded trollish behaviour.

When all you have is crass insults, ahh whats the point…

Don’t come back Mary. Leave them to there machinations. They support nothing grass roots. And just go around and around in circles. You where the ONLY one here who did much valuable, just listen to them drone on. Talking to themselves. Doing nothing, supporting nothing but there own mundane conversations. There is nothing progressive happening here.

And Craig get’s his importance fix every now and again. He could get these articles out elsewhere, and to better effect. But it’s not about that, it’s about him. And he’s humored, ‘encouraged’ by people who go against everything he professes to stand for.

I really do wonder who is the follower…Your a tool Craig (at best)..

A couple of weeks ago Turkey shot down a Russian plane. This had consequences including the cancellation of the proposed South Stream project.

Russia pulled out of South Stream a year ago.

Turkey was the chosen route for this project only because the EU put pressure on Bulgaria to deny access

At no point was Soth Stream planned to go through Turkey. It was proposed to go under the Black Sea, initially through Turkish waters, but the annexation of Crimea would have made that unnecessary. And the EU pressure was, yes, the reason for South Stream’s abandonment. A legal quibble was the ostensible cause, and one which Russia could have sidestepped easily, but what was really going on is opaque.

The Russians have shot themselves in the foot with that air-to-air missile, though. They are operating one pipeline through Turkey at present, Blue Stream, and are planning another Black Sea pipeline to European Turkey (Trakia)

It’s all very complicated, I admit. Meanwhile, Western operators are betting on TANAP, to be completed in 2018, also across Turkish territory, as long as none of the investors shoots down any Turkish aircraft before then.

Interesting discussion, with Ted Postol, on the potential for nuclear war with Russia.

“Dr. Theodore Postol, former advisor to the U.S. Chief of Naval Operations, a professor at MIT, nuclear technology expert”

” I would say that the Russian military, the informed military, the technically well-informed military, have to understand that the American missile defence is not viable – that’s to say, it does not have any capability. However, I want to underscore – however, they cannot treat this missile defence as if it has no capability. This is because they do not know what will happen next. The U.S. has vast industrial power, vast wealth. It has shown that it is more than able to engage in irrational military activities, and the Russian military cannot be assured that the U.S. won’t make some kinds of changes in some unforeseen future scenario to this missile defence. So you can have a missile defence, like the Americans have, which technically speaking is a joke – I want to underscore it, it’s a technical joke in terms of what it can do – but, the Russian military has almost no choice but to treat it as if it is a serious concern. So you get the worst of both worlds. Even from an american point of view – a missile defence that doesn’t work, but is treated by the Russian side as if it works.”

Are you saying that several comments were removed because amongst them was an important one that needed to be removed without drawing attention to it’s removal.

If so that sounds interesting, perhaps someone can reveal the gist of the of the the offending post?

The lines of bollocks “authored” by the resident cyber settlers post their triumph; running Mary off (so these think). This is to consolidate on the “triumph” as well as to keep the path that made Mary leave current, the utter shite is being splattered all over as the validation of their conduct!

Hence although there is no debate of any sorts that is ongoing and the place is as empty as a church on a Friday night. However the back slapping goes on, and self congratulations are in order all the while keeping Craig on side by talking up the caliber of the debate that will be rising (this is the weakness of Vauntie Cybernat, that is to be exploited as perceived by the cyber settlers acting rabbi) upon departure of the targeted few people, to beign with Mary, and then ………

Targeted assassination/killing/murder whether in real life or in the cyber life is a way of life for these useless, aggressive, overbearing, over here bunch of zionist cyber settlers.

Mary if you are reading this, stop being silly and letting these cretins feel so overconfident and happy, make an appearance and do a hit and run if only for sake of letting the air out of their sails!!!

Mary you are made of sterner stuff than these miscreants have taken you for, you know it and everyone else knows it so get on with it girl!

“It was the one about the intergalactic Rothschild Lizard Emperor seen entering Lodge 456 in Blackburn…”

Or, more realistically, something about Genie Energy.

Rumble’s original suggestion doesn’t seem very different to burying bad news on a very busy news day.

  • Loony

Ba´al Zevul. You are correct, the South Stream died with the refusal of the Bulgarians to allow access. This was replaced with Turkish stream, planned to go through Turkey and terminate at the EU frontier.

It was Turkish Stream (the direct replacement for South Stream) that was effectively ended by the shooting down of the Russian plane.

It is only complicated if you want it be. The plan is simple – it is to drive a wedge between Russia and Europe, to surround Russia militarily and to act everywhere as may be necessary in order to contain Russian influence, and to all the time and via propaganda deny that the plan exists.

They must like you – you spend time postulating whether Russian will shoot down Turkish planes but spend no time acknowledging that the facts are the exact opposite to the concerns you express.

    Ba’al

    Thanks for the update, Node.

You’re welcome. I’ll do it regularly for as long as necessary 🙂

Your link about the ex-IDF officer arrested for war crimes then released with apologies is indeed intriguing. It’s hard to imagine how an Israeli’s name would end up on a police or customs list without thorough investigation and confirmation that he was a war criminal. So unlikely to be a mistake and highly likely to be British government kowtowing to a higher authority.

    Bibi: Stoop!
    Cameron: How low?

  • Ba'al Zevul

    They must like you…
I would be flattering myself if I thought “they” cared one way or the other. But history tells me that the interests of a foreign power are generally not my interests, and that goes for Russia as well as for the USA or Israel.

I’ve expressed no opinion on the relative desirability of the pipelines, but my impression is that each “side” will continue indefinitely to encircle, suppress and compete with the other to the best of its ability. In the global capitalist model, it’s inevitable. And Putin subscribes as enthusiastically to that – as a means of self-enrichment and self-aggrandisement – as Donald Trump. A plague on all their houses, therefore.

allegations by Craig of BBC BIAS

why does the BBC have bias?

Perhaps due this sort of stuff, pressure from the state, channelling anti-terrr legislation where it is needed, pressure on the press?

Police Scotland has admitted using laws passed to track criminals and terrorists to snoop on journalists and their sources. Details obtained by the Press and Journal under the Freedom of Information Act show Police Scotland conducted operations under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (RIPA) on 11 occasions between October 2014 and June 2015

according to the javascript free bit of
    https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/scotland/778826/police-use-terror-laws-to-spy-on-scottish-journalists/?piano_d=1

but we surely trust the Police, and especially most of the Police in Scotland?

but trust all of them. . . or is this allegation still mufti? once a spy – always a spy – what’s the statute of limitations/allegations

    who knows

    Bob knows

A university spokesman said: “Bob Lambert is employed by us as a part-time lecturer in the School of Inter-national Relations and the Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence.

“He has been entirely open with the university and his students about his past.

“His teaching is highly valued by students.”

Dr Lambert, who has received awards for his support of Muslim community groups and work in counter-terrorism, was unavailable for comment.

I think on that basis, not bias, I’d recommend St. Andi’s be strong and suggest that Bob tells us more, as some of the national and inter-national information war stuff is at times confusing

  • Ishmael

“Well Said Fedup… Stay Strong Mary”

Agree & echo that comment. I may have my own take, but yea.

  • Ishmael

See in my view, Mary simply makes up for the stuff that doesn’t get said. I don’t know that Craig’s ever written about Israel and Palestine issues. But I do have a life other than here, maybe I missed it.

  • Herbie

“Genie Energy? Generally speaking a lot about a listed company can be learned from a chart.”

    Really.

Charts can tell you what has happened, like looking out the rear window, at where you’ve been. Even “priced in” is yesterday’s news.

I realise that “chartists” make great claims for their predictive powers, but more traditional chappies much prefer inside info.
