Coe Better Protected Than Blatter By Corrupt National Authorities 1875

Why are the Metropolitan Police not feeling Tory Lord Sebastian Coe’s collar and trawling his hard drives? I blogged recently about his involvement in awarding the World Athletics Championships without a vote to the hometown of his long term paymasters and sponsors, Nike. Plus the £12 million his promotions company made from VIP hospitality packages for the Olympics, the VIP tickets for which were allocated by the Organising Committee of which he was the £600,000 pa chairman.

Now we have this, from the person Coe works closest with in the IAAF and who he has now promoted to head the President’s office since Coe assumed that title:

« Dear Papa,

Following our discussion earlier I have already had some thoughts and believe that we need to do the following, in the strict confidence and control within a small circle of senior IAAF staff only. This must be very secret.
(…)

4. Finally, as soon as possible, and ‘unofficially’ PR campaign to ensure that we avoid international media scandals related to the Moscow Championships especially in the British press, where the worst of the articles is coming from. This will require specialist PR skills (working only with me directly) from London, but I believe that if we consider using CSM we can also benefit from Seb’s political influence in the UK. It is in his personal interest to ensure that the Moscow World Champs is a success and that people do not think that the media of his own country are trying to destroy it. We can work extremely hard in stopping any planed ‘attack’ on Russia from the British press in the coming weeks.

5. Finally, I need to be able to sit down with the Anti-doping department and understand exactly what Russian ‘skeleton’ we have still in the cupboard regarding doping. I think that the time to have unveiled the various athletes was a long time ago and that now we need to be smart. These athletes, of course, should NOT be part of any Russian team for these World Championships and Valentin should be pressurised to make sure this is the case. If the guilty ones are not competing then we might as well wait until the event is over to announce them. Or we announce one or two BUT AT THE SAME TIME as athletes from other countries. Also we can prepare a special dossier on IAAF testing which will show that one of the reasons why these Russian athletes come up positive is that they get tested a lot !!! In the same way, we can make the point that the WADA laboratory is the responsibility of WADA not IAAF and that if WADA decides there really is a problem, we have a plan B to do the tests in Lausanne instead (Gabriel confirmed this to me yesterday).

Papa, as soon as I have an idea of the price of this unofficial PR campaign I will let you know, but I will do everything in my power to protect the IAAF and the President.

All the best Nick »

So what does the Establishment now wish us to believe?

a) As long-term Vice President of the IAAF, Coe had no idea the organisation was massively corrupt and the President was taking huge bribes to cover-up doping scandals.
b) Coe had no idea his close associate and now head of his office Nick Davies was writing to the son of the President proposing that Coe’s company and Coe’s “political influence” be used to keep doping scandals out of the British media.
c) Coe’s meeting, while Vice President of the IAAF, with executives of his sponsor Nike, to discuss awarding the World Athletics Championships to Eugene, had no bearing at all on the decision of the President of IAAF to award the games to Eugene without a vote.

All that is even less convincing than Sepp Blatter’s declarations of innocence. Yet there is an utter difference in the British media’s treatment of Blatter and of “Lord” Coe.

I wonder why?

Well mod deleted the comment so clearly s/he doesn’t want you to see the content. I have it saved so can post again but it will be deleted within 30 seconds.

The mod policy is to allow the original comment to stand, allow all criticism of it to follow, and then delete any attempt to defend the original comment. It’s a good system if you want to stifle free speech without being seen to be doing so.

    Anon!

I urge you to keep up the good work.

Anyone who can get the Eminences and Old Misfits on here into overdrive must clearly be hitting various nails on the head.

I therefore appoint you KCOEB. Arise, Sir Anon!

    ++++++++++++++++++++

BTW, did you know about the (free)Israeli satellite TV equivalent to BBC World, France24, Al-Jazeera, RT, etc….

    ie, i24NEWS?

If so, I wonder if you think, as I do, that such a service was long overdue and will provide a useful counterpoise to the stream of anti-Israel propaganda put out by a wide variety of dubious sources?

  • lysias

Anon 1 here wants us to believe his claim on faith. He forgets that he has a record here, and we well know who to trust and who not to trust.

  • lysias

    i24news:

Melloul [the CEO] has stated that one of his goals for the station is to change the international “point of view about Israel.”[2] Although the station receives no funding from the Israeli government, Melloul has said that i24 will battle prejudice against, and ignorance about Israel with “facts and diversity.

  • Habbabkuk (la vita e' bella)

    This was the exchange:

“I’ve answered your post in detail, RoS, but it has been deleted.

    Have a happy Christmas.

    [ Mod: No you didn’t. ]”

The “you” of the mod’s reply refers to the “I’ve” in Anon’s comment and not to the “it”.

    Sounds good to me.

Why should anyone be against facts, I wonder, and who could possibly be against diversity?

To repeat: The claim was that the moderator deleted a post that answered a question. The moderator says the claim is false.

What the moderator says implies that he did not do that.

My Christmas greetings to you. If you don’t like free speech then don’t use it. I speak for everyone here who has had harmless posts deleted, even for those whose views I disagree with, when I say that the blog is popular only in as far as it allows the free expression of views.

Funny that our Pugnacious Friend seems to be the only person still throwing the troll-word about.

Good evening, and a happy Christmas to you and your family.

It is undoubtedly a good thing that Israel has finally launched an English language 24-hour news service to countenance the propaganda of ‘Pallywood’ media manipulation, as promoted by Mary and latterly Node.

It’s pretty clear, from the goading of the mods, the blog host, and the continual character attacks on fellow posters, the great partisanship, and the glee when an old regular departs, that one of the following is in effect:

    – Such posters are completely ignorant of their actions (due to unpleasantness and stupidity)
    – they want to drive out anyone with opposing views
    – they want to destroy this blog

Old time users of public forums may be familiar with these tactics. A concerted effort is made to pick off individuals, leaving just a nest of right-wingers, racists or whatever, ready to leap upon the next unwary individual who happens along and decides to put down a few ideas not to their liking.

    No you don’t.

Must disagree with you on that one, Anon.

The vast majority of the regulars on here don’t believe in free speech. That is why they repeatedly moan about your presence (and mine, and Residents Dissidents’s, etc….) on this blog.

For them, this blog is a useful nest in which they can lay their eggs. They are cuckoos and squatters. The proof of that is how they systematically post their obsessions over and over again irrespective of the subject of each new thread.

However – as Craig commented recently- it does at least mean that they don’t go around shouting in sundry supermarket car parks to hte inconvenience and embarrassment of the good citizens of this land.

“IF Coe was a Zionist sympathiser, it would explain a lot.”

    What you surely mean is:

IF Coe was a J**, it would explain a lot.

Mary did not leave because she was attacked, but because her posts were deleted. She took the attacks as validation. The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.

I’ve a post on the definition of terrorism in moderation which will be out of sequence if/when it ever appears

“Said by someone who repeatedly talks about “old trolls” on this site”
    ___________________

Not since someone (perhaps Craig?) asked us not to use that word any longer.

As far as I can see, since that request only the Pugnacious One still employs it.

Perhaps he feel that the rules – and indeeed good manners – don’t apply to American?.

  • lysias

Glenn, you should have said “that at least one of the following…” More than one of them can easily be true.

  • glenn_uk

I can see why Mods aren’t supposed to engage with discussions. They make one small clarification – a very clear one,

    – One or more posts were deleted
    – A claim was made that a deleted post answered a question in detail
    – The mod didn’t agree that it answered a question in detail.

(At least, knowing anon1, not honestly!)

My guess is that it was a faux-explanation (very popular around here) which was riddled with insults, snide references and various other slurs, which merited its deletion. If I’m wrong, perhaps someone will tell me 🙂

Craig and especially YesIndyRef2 have made some interesting points about the number of public school educated children attending Oxbridge (and perhaps others).

It’d be interesting to discuss this question further in this blog but as thigs stand the chances of being able to do so rationally and without diversion from the Old Trolls and Eminences and their hangers-on are slim.

Perhaps a special thread started by Craig and some really ruthless moderation?

I have a number of ideas as well.

True. But we must support their right to free speech, even if they wish to curtail ours, as much as we support our own.

  • Republicofscotland

It would appear catching Anon1 out on a flippant lie, has lit the blue touch paper, under the establishment boys as they gather around their fellow espouser, and close ranks.

If nothing else it’s a interesting insight into their clumsy tactics.

Many thanks for your Christmas wishes, which I reciprocate heartily!

I forgot to tell unbiassed and open-minded readers that the new the satellitesIsraeli service “i 24 NEWS” is available in the UK on the Astra 19,2 degrees and Hotbird 13,0 degrees satellites.

UK freesat broadcasters like the BBC, ITV etc of course use Astra 19,2 degrees so it’ll be easy for anyone with a freesat set-up to view that new broadcaster from Israel.
