Jimmy Savile met the Royal family not just on many official occasions, but frequently socially. He was a private Hogmanay guest of the Prime Minister on seven occasions. Of course not only on 31 December, I just think that fact illustrates how close he was.
I do not believe that all of these people knew nothing about his persistent and repeated behaviour.
It is not only that I do not believe they could fail to notice. It is that anyone with that level of frequent access to the Prime Minister, other ministers and Royal family would be checked out by the security services. He would not have experienced full positive vetting (now called direct vetting), but a level of vetting would have been carried out on Savile himself. And many of his friends were subject to frequent direct vetting and it is impossible that a picture of Savile would not have built up tangentially. MI5, Special Branch (now also renamed) and GCHQ have tens of thousands of employees. What do you think these people do all day?
When I passed my last direct vetting, the interviewing officer had spent four months of his life doing nothing but investigate me full time. He noted that I continued to have a rather extensive love life, but as it involved only consenting adults and I did not appear open to blackmail, it was no reason to fail me. Compared to today – in the 70s and 80s the age of first sexual activity was higher not lower. The number of sexual partners people had was fewer. The age of male gay consent was higher. There wasn’t the access to pornography there is today. And far less on television. It was a more, not less prudish time. So the claim it was some era where the sexual abuse of the underage was more tolerated and acceptable is BBC utter nonsense.

Anyone who studies this stuff should beware of the Tory effort to associate Savile’s molestation of children with two institutions the Tories hate – the BBC and the NHS.

Savile was a known money-grubber. Have a look at his attitude to teabags. So what was the financial side to his activities? Where were the money flows? The official critics seem to have the same answer that he himself would have had: the main money flow was the raising of money for charity. Really? Are you kidding?
The list of the places where Savile owned houses or otherwise maintained accommodation seems to be growing. What’s with that? Marc Dutroux in Belgium had a lot of houses too. Why does someone own so many houses, not in the Caribbean or California but mostly a few hours’ drive from each other in British towns? It’s not as if they were luxurious.
Look into Savile’s “personal” charities and investigate the role that was played by the company that does the security for Marks and Spencer, those who dare.
When I was around 15 or 16 (mid-1980’s) I clearly remember my younger sister telling me about the Jimmy Saville rumours – we were living in a remote mountain top village as far from London as you can be whilst still being a part of the UK (i.e. we definitely were not tapped into the London media world). First thing to note, it took me a few minutes to find a link to this story, had to search via Twitter. Google didn’t help, and I only stumbled on it due to a BTL comment; the corporate media is doing it’s best to ignore the story.
Basically, this Senator goes by the title ‘maverick’. He’s rude, and a bit nuts. However, he has made these allegations before, and claims to have seen documents implicating no fewer than 3 Australian PM’s in chld sex abuse. He is now implicating senior legal figues, and doubtless a few senior Plod. Currently, this is one of these stories that Big Media wants to go away, and it may well do; on the other hand, a few years down the line, we could see a whopper of a scandal. I can’t name names, because I simply don’t have a clue. I could have an educated guess at one of them, but that’s all it would be. Personally, I take the view that the police should be more careful about naming paedophiles, and stay silent until they are actually charged. It’s a serious accusation that ruins lives, after all. This is not the same as a cover up of course. It’s just a case of investigating in private, and givng the accused no leeway to whine about leaks.
Basically, it’s the same situation here as in the UK: cover up at all levels, to protect powerful people. And Rupert Murdoch surely doesn’t get his way through his famous charm, and elegant dinner parties. The Saville story remains intruiging, but the details will probably not be revealed until we are all dead. A sick being, a pederast and necrophiliac, a man of absolutely no talent, and less charm, how does he have so many powerful friends and patrons? Over here, Cardinal Pell remains friends with powerful people, and hasn’t been arrested, and probably never will be. No fewer than three (count ’em) former PM’s are implicated in a report that crosses the Attorney General’s desk, and what happens? Nothing. It didn’t happen. Down the memory hole it goes. Maybe the Senator is making it up? Well, possibly. Perhaps the police might ask him?
I’ve thought for a long time that our security services are totally out of control. Julian Assange it was who, more recently, brought to my attention the fact that the spooks are actually in bed with the private sector, and are no longer really controlled by the Government of the day (if indeed they ever were). There is an overlap between public and private sectors, and that never ends well. I look at some of our parliamentarians, and simply can’t figure out why the fuck they’ve been let anywhere near parliament. Establishing the who and why of this conundrum might be a fruitful line of inquiry to help understand the network of influence and its motivation.
