For anybody who doubts the reactionary single voice the UK media has become, it should be obvious from what you see on the surface, eg the unanimity of attack on Corbyn, the SNP or Assange. But if that doesn’t help, look below the surface.

Ex-Hedge Fund manager, now Murdoch leader writer Oliver Kamm published a disgusting and blatant lie and smear about me. Very quickly, Nick Cohen, Hadley Freeman and Marina Hyde of the Guardian and Stephen Daisley of ITV were popping up sending him personal tweets to congratulate him on it.

Usually it is best to ignore the lies of far right Murdoch employee Oliver Kamm, but there is one lie about me which he has been spreading so assiduously I feel I have to counter it. In Prospect Magazine Kamm states that:

“Craig Murray, a former diplomat who’s imaginatively reinvented himself as a “human rights campaigner,” claims that the charges against Assange are founded on political correctness.”

This is absolutely untrue. I have said no such thing. What I actually said in an interview with Kamm was “Due to a mistaken kind of political correctness the British media refuses to publish all the details of the case.” You can hear it here.

There is a massive difference between saying that the media refuses to publish the facts due to political correctness, and saying that rape itself is a matter of political correctness. I abhor the latter view. As Nadira has asked me to remind you, my partner is herself a rape victim.

In this interview with LBC Oliver Kamm went on to insult and lambast me and say that I claimed that the rape charges were founded on political correctness. I tried to point out that I said no such thing, but LBC had cut me off. LBC later put up the version you hear on that link in which Kamm’s remarks are given in full and my own are edited. But it is very plain indeed that I did not say what Kamm goes on to accuse me of saying.

Kamm then tweeted that I had stated that rape is political correctness. Though this was plainly untrue to anybody who listened to the LBC link which he attached, he started to receive congratulatory messages from his friends on twitter. To anybody who has yet to catch on that the mainstream media functions in collusion, it should come as no surprise to learn that this Murdoch employee received personal tweets attacking me from Nick Cohen, Hadley Freeman and Marina Hyde, all of the Guardian, and from Stephen Daisley of STV.

Rape is an appalling crime. Any sex without consent constitutes rape.

But I do not hold that the truth or falsity of an allegation of rape may not be subject to scrutiny. Anybody who does hold that is handing unchecked power to the state to eliminate opponents. I do think it is deplorable that the British media has not published the detail of the case. Then people could learn this.

Kamm’s reactionary friends can congratulate him all they like. What he is doing is spreading a deliberate lie about me. But it may just lead to a few more people researching what is really happening in the Assange case, and that would be karma.

UPDATE

I contacted Prospect magazine and they have now changed the Kamm article to state what I actually said. It is still of course surrounded by Kamm’s ultra right wing mendacious interpretations, but at least it no longer says that I said something which I did not say. For the rest, Mr Kamm is entitled to spew the vile nonsense he is so well paid for by Murdoch, and his mates at the Guardian love him for.

    Prospect Magazine appears to be too far right for anybody but the double-jointed swivel-eye mechanism to understand. You place it in your corporate lobby like the New Statesman in order to forewarn the unwary from which direction their neck is likely to be bitten off.

    And yet, and yet, we live in duplicitous times. It might be placed there for you to prepare for attack on one side and then the attack hits you from the left. The most duplicitous of all are those who call themselves zionists.

The “investment banking” dates at CIA money-laundry HSBC are fuzzy, as befits NOC sinecures. ‘Strategic Research’ is the kind of lyrical cornpone that poorly-paid MI5 pukes dream up. ‘Founder’ Kamm was Mehmet Dalman’s factotum at WMG, ’nuff said. Now Kamm’s a clandestine government propagandist, a fake writer, which is probably a step up from being a fake speculator. It’s harder now, because when Kamm tries to write about finance the audience can compare it to how real investment professionals think, and the shortfalls are grim, even once it’s dumbed down and vagued up for Times leader readers. Perhaps some country bumpkins are fooled. No one of consequence gives Kamm a thought.

    In Kurdistan, which is culturally close to Syria, it was estimated that under Saddam Hussein about 70% of the male population were spying/working for political parties including the Ba’ath regime, or his sponsors/enemy the CIA or both.

    We are not talking here about Oliver Kamm photocopying neo-con rhetoric like an exam cheat in order to make a living sitting on his bottom. We are talking about bartering CIA or government information in exchange for being kept in the loop of what was actually going on. Not for survival, but for keeping informed about what was going on.

    I have repeated many times here that my Kurdish friend who worked for the CIA to de-stabilise the Saddam regime informed me 10 years before the rise of Islamic State that USUKIS were going to give Islam a caliphate and a state to operate in. This is the kind of carrot that was offerred to political Muslims. The stick was regular torture, mind controlling drugs, and CIA betrayal of their agents to the stooges in power for execution.

    You cannot compare what the troll does, what I do or what Oliver Kamm does, with the stakes that are in play under a dictatorial regime. You cannot oppose a dictator from your laptop, you have to oppose them with the support of an outside power like the CIA , Iran or saudi Arabia, with cash and power on the ground.

    Similarly the dictator cannot remain in power without the Blairs, Straws, and Camerons commissioning them to commit crimes against humanity in exchange for other useful things like spying infrastructure. You fight the Russians in Afghanistan, Boznia and Syria, you terrorise your own fellow Muslims in the process because you cannot change your arbtitrary surrender of power to the dictator unless you ally yourself with a greater dictator like USUKIS or European power.

    You are not on a side, like playing cricket, or gambling as a hedge fund operator for a company against the punters in the market, or for a limited edition magazine like Prospect. You are in a vortex of politics dominated by the abomination of nuclear bombs at the top, all the way down to 4th hand kalashnikovs at the bottom.

    The troll, encouraged by his sponsors in GCHQ, adopts a faintly hasbara tint of mauve to his greying locks, or sometimes blonde, according to his whim. A political tint which parades his broad understanding of intellectual politics and his knowledge of nothing.

    How dare he judge the people who are in the vortex of political revolution against the overwhelming power of the rich countries, while he wafts his opinions around on a wage and company van?

    Words fail me at the smallness of the troll’s mind. I take refuge in the pathetic image of a small puppy with a runny tummy and the mods delete the entry.

    What would you like me to say about a system which refuses to listen to common-sense and bankrupts the entire global economic banking system, or which forces war onto smaller nations to profit from arms design and manufacture, wrecking the lives of millions?.

    Julian Assange stands up against the total tyranny of USUKIS power and the pathetic Phillip Hammond and Oliver Kamm portray him as capricious and guilty of sexual crimes.

    I am sure the mind of the man is fucked. I’m sure the mind of the many times tortured Chechyen, lraqi and Libyan jihadists are fucked. But compared with the spirit of these people fighting against the neo-con machine, the silly troll is not fit to judge anyone or anything.

    Hopefully they’ve all gone to bed and my comments will stand until morning. Joan Smith’s Twitter account is @polblonde and I hope whe had a good night’s sleep because in response to her “That would be the Craig Murray who named one of the alleged victims when he appeared with me on Newsnight.” I have tweeted:

    The main alternative view is that these muslims are proxies working to Western interests, currently in ME, N Africa and so on, but with the ultimate aim of provoking conflict in the Caucasus and Central Asian Stans, thereby wresting control of these resource rich regions from the Russians.

    Then there’s another less prominent but growing idea that the Russians are in on the game.

    That the destruction of Islamic territories and states within and around Russian borders is not a step towards the containment of Russia, but an end in itself.

    In that scenario they’d just divvy up the spoils, you know, like after WWII.

    What makes the media’s pundits so angry and vindictive is that even they are beginning to understand that the Empire, which they and their ancestors for generations have worked for, is in rapid decline.

    Syria has been a great shock to them. It never occurred to the pundits that the Pentagon and the CIA, both of which they worship and revere not out of love but fear, could be so comprehensively beaten. They have never seen anything like it; these are the people who pretended to be happy that Russia was falling into a trap or a quagmire. Now they are beginning to fear that the superpower that they back because it always prevails is about to lose.

    And that that means that a Eurasian alliance-the Empire’s original and most enduring nightmare- is about to displace the Atlantic axis to which they have pledged allegiance.

    It is worse than the threat of socialist revolution because they aren’t going to be able to write their way into leadership positions, jobs in Transport House or Parliament. They were OK with that, which is why so many of them used to be ultra left, dabbling in Marx or Mao.

    They hate Putin and fear China because the writing is on the wall: there has been no economic recovery, the debt can never be repaid, and interest payments are virtually suspended. The petro-dollar is crumbling. The ability of New York and London to control the international economy is ending. The edge that the “west” used to count on in technology, armaments, skilled workers, resources, capital; the cultural hegemony which meant that even revolutionary socialism was just another form of european positivism: all this is eroding quickly.

    They hate Assange and Snowden because they have revealed the truth about the Empire which is that it is just a sordid, immoral plundering enterprise without any saving graces. Not a means to the end of justice, peace and prosperity for all but a cleaned up version of the plantation slavery where it all began.
    The rest of the world now realises that the 99% in the US or UK are not much better off than they are, and are rapidly becoming as badly paid, unjustly treated and politically impotent as anyone. The generations that judged ‘western’ lifestyles from the comfortable stereotypes projected by the movies or TV are coming to understand that reality includes mass incarceration, a worthless justice system, millions who cannot afford medical attention, tens of millions living in poverty and without financial resources.
    The fog of propaganda is lifting and it is becoming clear that the Empire is declining as quickly as the newspapers which are desperately trying to deny it.
