At 8.30pm tonight I am going to have a streamed live chat with Independence Live, on various subjects including of course Scottish Independence. It is interesting because they are setting it up using Blab, a programme which enables you to appear and join in the conversation. This is experimental for me. I believe that you may need a twitter account to sign in to blab and join in, but that you should be able just to watch on the Independence Live website without signing in. I am investigating if it will be possible to stream it on this site as well.
If we like the technology, I might use it to host a series of chats on this site, where I sit down with a whisky in hand and ruminate, and you can pop up and join in.
Join the Blab!
This is a livestream, Blab interview. If you would like to jump on and join the panel then follow the link below. You will need your Twitter login details to join panel, or you can just observe. https://blab.im/independence-live-craig-murray-interview
Ok, Clark, I apologise for saying stuff about IP addresses and links that you don’t like.
Perhaps you can also apologise for being a proponent of the police state?
Glenn_uk, 11:20 pm, well I’m not sure we’re required to believe every conspiracy theory, but certainly we will be berated as “establishment” if we question any of them, and also probably for calling them “conspiracy theories”.
It’s like on the 9/11 thread, sorta ‘all theories, even those that contradict each other, will be passed without criticism so long as they contradict the official story. Any dissenters to this alliance-of-convenience will be labelled “establishment trolls”‘.
RobG: “Ok, Clark, I apologise for saying stuff about IP addresses and links that you don’t like.”
Damned white of you. But… (to Clark):
“Perhaps you can also apologise for being a proponent of the police state?”
Could you refresh my memory, most preferably with reference, of Clark’s being a proponent of the police state? I’m sure you wouldn’t put down such charges without ready evidence. That would just be plain stupid, and malicious – right?
“I meant the Russian TV production of The Master and Margarita.”
Lysias, do you have a link? I’ve read Bulgakov’s masterpiece.

For gawd’s sake I’ve tried to explain this. Any incoming links to your web space include the IP address of the person who clicked on the link.
I’M SURE THE WEBMASTER OF CRAIG MURRAY’S BOARD CAN CONFIRM THIS (and if they can’t, it’s only because they haven’t paid to have it enabled).
Sorry, I don’t normally do caps.
Someone, somewhere (might have been on twitter) said the comments would be better here if they were threaded.
If anyone else wonders, sadly Craig’s current “theme” layout for the blog doesn’t support threaded comments even though WordPress itself does.
Craig is keen on moving to a more modern look for the blog that does all the fancy stuff like auto-resizing for phones and small tablets which will also support threads.
Admittedly the indenting of the back and forth here would have probably fallen off the right hand edge of the flat earth by now but threaded comments will likely be tried at some stage…
RobG- 11:51 pm
RobG, this isn’t even wrong.
WTF is an “incoming link”? Links don’t move. Links don’t include IP addresses.
Not even wrong, talking our yer arse, Rob.
Oh here we go: “It’s all a conspiracy and we are not ruled by a bunch of psychos” meme.
I’m afraid that we are all ruled by psychos, and their agents totally pollute the internet.
But don’t forget, it’s ‘Hug a Habba’ week. The trolls and vermin must feel the lurv…
RobG: “For gawd’s sake I’ve tried to explain this. Any incoming links to your web space include the IP address of the person who clicked on the link.”
This isn’t the point, RobG, and you know that very well.
Your point – yours – was that Habbabkuk doesn’t put down links because that would reveal him. You implied that posting a link HERE would give away the IP address to others. Kindly substantiate that, or admit you might have been incorrect.
There’s no shame in it, actually I regard admitting fault when due as a strength. Shambling on and on, arms outstretched, eyes un-seeing, delivering the same point over and over in a monotone like some pre-programmed read-only zombie does not – in fact – testify to strength of character.
The webserver receives (usually) the page the visitor came from if any, their IP address and details of their OS and browser and some other info can be deduced by code on the receiving page itself. All but the IP address can easily be faked with browser addons though. IP address needs a proxy service to hide that.
Clark, an ‘incoming link’ means anyone who clicks on a link that goes to your web space.
If you have proper stats for your web space, you know the IP address of anyone who arrives there via a link.
I’ve no idea what we are arguing about.
Except that it’s a distraction from all the real shit that’s going on in this world (I’ve just broken a major story on my blog, that the likes of you are completely ignoring).
So, yes, you are all going to be hanged for your crimes. Make no mistake about that.
What’s this shit, RobG, “My comment is awaiting moderation”? You going to admit to supporting the police state? Put yourself up against a wall and shoot yourself.
Squonk, we posted at the same time, but we seem to have said the same kind of thing.
Squonk: Doubtless we’ll both be hanged for discussing this (we don’t want any mistake about that), and probably shot first as a precaution. But while we still have a moment, the point was that RobG charged Habbabkuk with not posting links, quote, “because it makes it much easier to trace this creature’s IP address.”
So who would want to trace it and supposedly get him? RobG doesn’t say.
Who would get this IP address anyway (and be in a position to do something with it?) Again, silence.
But RobG – much to Clark’s annoyance – leaves a lazy implication that putting down a link reveals to all and sundry the location (or at least the IP) of the poster. Which is untrue.
Personally, I think it’s simply through technical incompetence that Habbabkuk fails to ever provide a link. But such a notion is jU$T Cr@Zy, I daresay.
Yes you can follow the incoming links back to the previous hop but you can’t go further than that without access to the earlier server for the preceding link. – I hope that’s a fair summary.
This thread alone has probably just blown up GCHQ computers. Analysts for this blog must be on danger money and will probably shoot themselves long before the revolution!
Donald Trump, boasting about his dick…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nALb4lEbSbA
Oh-my-God.
American politics now goes beyond parody.
I predict revolution within 2 years. It won’t come from the populace, who are too propagandised; it will come from the military, who have already been refusing orders in the Syria conflict.
Squonk: Of course, if you have access to everything, you could follow my link back to http://www.bbc.co.uk/ then – assuming you have Spooks/ 24/ Bourne Identity type access, see who else had linked to the same page. With some luck and patience, you might match it up to me. But that’s only if I had acquired the link directly, from my current IP, and relatively recently (considering likely traffic).
But – following that logic, and since whatever spook involved had Total Access – why not just see who made any given post in the first place (whether or not it included links)?
Anyway, the charge was set against a person RobG accuses of being a spook, which makes the entire discussion ridiculous. In RobG’s rather singular way of explaining himself at a given point in the evening, he told a “spook” that posts can be tracked by the Secret Services, so.. errr… these things are definitely being found out, and – erm – therefore they – I mean we – will find you, and you’ll all be put up against a wall and shot, right before being put on trial. And then you’ll, I mean we, will know all about it.
You mark my words.
Squonk: “This thread alone has probably just blown up GCHQ computers. Analysts for this blog must be on danger money and will probably shoot themselves long before the revolution!”
There are dangerously high levels of recursion into which algorithms must be calling themselves around about now. The street lamps must be dimming around Cheltenham with the effort, even as we speak.
Anyone seriously following and trying to make sense of these threads probably requires far more than GCHQ analysts’ salaries, just to pay for the therapy necessitated.

With regard to identifying IP addresses, and where people are posting from, many whistle-blowers, like Manning and Snowden, have proved that nothing is hidden from the state.
RobG: “Donald Trump, boasting about his dick…”
Indeed – have you been following this? Trump was just responding to a guy who’d made implications, after Trump had ridiculed him (Marco Rubio IIRC) for sweating profusely. It’s an absolute joke, but a consequence of the Republicans spending 30 or so years telling their supporters that it’s OK to be sexist, racist, ageist, misogynist, show gender and faith based bigotry and so on.
So they have finally got a candidate who doesn’t just tease and dog-whistle these attributes. He struts around shouting about them, the Republicans have created a monster, the tea-baggers love it, and they have lost control of their own creature.
Glenn,
Actually they are going to dim everywhere. See https://squonk.tk/blog/2015/03/15/the-general-discussion-thread/comment-page-58/#comment-22264
@Glenn_uk
Try posting on my board (where you might learn something); but of course none of you ever do, because I have full web stats and can easily identify who you arseholes are.
But don’t forget to Hug a Habba.
RobG: “Try posting on my board (where you might learn something); but of course none of you ever do, because I have full web stats and can easily identify who you arseholes are.”
Just posted there – you should have my IP address as a visitor by now. And I’ve never made a secret of the fact that I live in South Wales.
So where do you go from here, RobG?
RobG, since you’ve proven that you’ll lie to push whatever your agenda is, how could any reader of your blog know whether they’d learned anything or not?
Squonk’s link points out a serious electricity generation deficit in the UK later this year. The UK is a (partial, corrupted) democracy. It’s pretty obvious that people will vote for governments that keeps the power on rather than lets it go off. That means more power stations – nuke or fossil fuel (cumulative radiation or global warming) to provide base-load. So a majority of the population would vote for hastening the death of our ecosphere.
So we’d best all put ourselves against the wall and shoot ourselves.
Oh I first posted at RobG’s months ago. That’s how he found out my ISP which he recently published here to supply false substantiation for his lies.
Ok, I’ve got all the IP addresses (and hidden addresses) from Clark and Glenn.
Thanks for the spam, but you don’t address what I’m talking about? My post about neutron bombardment in nuclear power stations is backed-up by very authoritative links. What’s your problem with this?
Or are you complete psychos?
Probably complete psychos.
You can see the post they commented on – which is ground breaking news – here:

RobG: I know we’re all going to be put in a noose and shot, while we’re up against a wall on trial and all that (you mark my words!) – but while we’re waiting, could you actually admit your premise about us never posting there (for all sorts of reasons) is actually false?
You know how it is – I’ve got to put a few things in order, given I’m going to be shot/hung/put on trial very soon. Mark my words. Do I really have time to read your blog first?
Glenn_uk, if you read my blog, and particularly my recent post about Indian Point, you might have some chance of surviving, instead of dying like a dumb animal.
Squonk, anent “Craig is keen on moving to a more modern look for the blog that does all the fancy stuff like auto-resizing for phones and small tablets which will also support threads.”
Many thanks for your non-histrionic assistance. One consideration in updating the weblog with fancy stuff: when the bashful among us use Tor & noscript, every extra bit of JS fights you tooth and nail. Less is more in that respect.
