Facebook has deleted all of my posts from July 2017 to last week because I am, apparently, a Russian Bot. For a while I could not add any new posts either, but we recently found a way around that, at least for now. To those of you tempted to say “So what?”, I would point out that over two thirds of visitors to my website arrive via my posting of the articles to Facebook and Twitter. Social media outlets like this blog, which offer an alternative to MSM propaganda, are hugely at the mercy of these corporate gatekeepers.
Facebook’s plunge into censorship is completely open and admitted, as is the fact it is operated for Facebook by the Atlantic Council – the extreme neo-con group part funded by NATO and whose board includes serial war criminal Henry Kissinger, Former CIA Heads Michael Hayden and Michael Morrell, and George Bush’s chief of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff, among a whole list of horrors.
The staff are worse than the Board. Their lead expert on Russian bot detection is an obsessed nutter named Ben Nimmo, whose fragile grip on reality has been completely broken by his elevation to be the internet’s Witchfinder-General. Nimmo, grandly titled “Senior Fellow for Information Defense at the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab”, is the go-to man for Establishment rubbishing of citizen journalists, and as with Joseph McCarthy or Matthew Clarke, one day society will sufficiently recover its balance for it to be generally acknowledged that this kind of witch-hunt nonsense was not just an aberration, but a manifestation of the evil it claimed to fight.
There is no Establishment cause Nimmo will not aid by labeling its opponents as Bots. This from the Herald newspaper two days ago, where Nimmo uncovers the secret web of Scottish Nationalist bots that dominate the internet, and had the temerity to question the stitch-up of Alex Salmond.
Nimmo’s proof? 2,000 people had used the hashtag #Dissolvetheunion on a total of 10,000 tweets in a week. That’s five tweets per person on average. In a week. Obviously a massive bot-plot, eh?
When Ben’s great expose for the Herald was met with widespread ridicule, he doubled down on it by producing his evidence – a list of the top ten bots he had uncovered in this research. Except that they are almost all, to my certain knowledge, not bots but people. But do not decry Ben’s fantastic forensic skills, for which NATO and the CIA fund the Atlantic Council. Ben’s number one suspect was definitely a bot. He had got the evil kingpin. He had seen through its identity despite its cunning disguise. That disguise included its name, IsthisAB0T, and its profile, where it called itself a bot for retweets on Independence. Thank goodness for Ben Nimmo, or nobody would ever have seen through that evil, presumably Kremlin-hatched, plan.
No wonder the Atlantic Council advertise Nimmo and his team as “Digital Sherlocks”
Nimmo’s track record is simply appalling. In this report for the Atlantic Council website, he falsely identified British pensioner @Ian56789 as a “Russian troll farm”, which led to Ian being named as such by the British government, and to perhaps the most surreal Sky News interview of all time. Perhaps still more remarkably, Nimmo searches for use of the phrase “cui bono?” in reference to the Skripal and fake Douma chemical weapons attacks. Nimmo characterises use of the phrase cui bono as evidence of pro-Assad and pro-Kremlin bots and trolls – he really does. Most people would think to consider cui bono indicates a smattering more commonsense than Nimmo himself displays.
It is at least obvious cui bono from Nimmo’s witchfinding – the capacious, NATO and CIA stuffed pockets of Ben Nimmo himself. That Facebook allows this utterly discredited neo-conservative charlatan the run of its censorship operations needs, given Facebook’s pivotal role in social media intercourse, to concern everybody. The freedom of the internet is under fundamental attack.

Has anybody else here had the experience yet of Facebook locking them out of their account and only allowing access to it again if you agree to download a tool from Facebook to carry out an inventory of your PC?
I stopped using it after it demanded a clear photo for access, among the 101 other things it demands.
I’m also curious as to the info this site demands for use.
Most every site I visit asks for/demands me surrender info for use. For “my own benefit” of course.

Their facial recognition software is incredibly powerful.
It automatically tags nearly everyone, and most of the time it gets it right.

Last year Facebook released an Android app that let users lock apps on their phone remotely. It was advertised as a security enhancing app. A curious geek took a closer look at it and discovered that it ran processes in the background and uploaded everything on the user’s device to Facebook’s servers. Photos, contact information, passwords everything. When tech journalists publicized this fact FB pulled the app from the Play Store immediately and claimed it was part on an “experiment” and they were going to pull the app after a few days anyway.
If people are too lazy or stupid to stop using a “social” media platform that tracks their every move in collaboration with the “deep state”, manipulates their psychology, censors and bans them, retroactively deletes posts, releases covert spyware apps and LIES shamelessly about what it does over and over and over again…where does that leave us when the shit really hits the fan?
It’s downright depressing how the internet is destroying peoples’ ability to reason and think critically.

The issue is that France closes the scallop beds from May to October, under French legislation, to allow the beds to recover, and allow the rest of the fish to have clean seas, with many food sources, seaweeds etc. British boats are allowed all the year round, under EU legislation, to scour the seabed, which leaves the sea full of debris, and the sea floor bare and sterile. The rest of the fish stocks are then depleted and everyone loses out. Scouring the seabeds is utterly destructive and should be banned or strictly controlled, everywhere, in my opinion. The issue here though, is the different legislation followed by French and UK fishermen close into the French shore

Powell had a big problem with that. He was a racist. Jonathan Sacks is also a racist. Jeremy Corbyn is a man who has fought against racism, including anti-Semitism, all his life.
Sacks is a former chief rabbi. He is not the current chief rabbi, Ephraim Mirvis, with whom Theresa May chose to dine after she won the Tory leadership election when Andrea Leadsom dropped out, before she got down to the business of naming her cabinet. Mirvis is also the guy with whom London mayor Sadiq Khan met as his first “official mayoral act”. He too supports the existence of the above-mentioned Nazi-style foreign regime.

I phone them up instead, or send very long text messages, or use Whatsapp.

The item was triggered by the riots that followed the fatal stabbing of a German man by two people that it was claimed were immigrants.

The problem as I see it that you couldn’t hope to censor fake news, one tweet was all it took to set off the Trump item mention by the NY Times, it’s deciding if news is fake or not, people need to ask can it be verified.
As has been mentioned, alternatives social media sites are available. I would be very cautious about any peer to peer sharing site, it would not be possible to censor such an arrangement and it could be misused for various criminal purposes, as with the dark web. The producer of a new two-part BBC Two series about the attitudes of British Jews to anti-Semitism and Israel which airs next week has described how she felt “a huge obligation to get it right”.
Lucie Kon, herself a British Jew, said she “felt passionately about making the series” but that it took several months to find eight Jews who reflected “the plurality of voices in the British Jewish community”.
With a broad range of opinions, beliefs and practices, the group goes to Israel, on “a journey to explore what it means to be Jewish in Britain today and examine some of the most pressing questions and challenges facing the Jewish community at home and in Israel”.
In the first episode, airing on Tuesday, the group meet in Manchester to hear from the Community Security Trust (CST) to explore what anti-Semitism looks and feels like in modern Britain and reflect on how perceptions of Israel affect them.
They meet the owner of a local kosher restaurant that was attacked by arsonists last year, talk to Jewish Labour MP Louise Ellman and meet Jewish students who say they need security for Israel events on campus. The group then travels to Israel, and to a Kibbutz, where different views on the IDF are shared, before heading to the West Bank and to Efrat, a settlement, where they meet a settler who explains why he thinks this is just a regular town.
In Hebron, the group meets a spokesman for Jewish settlers and a Jewish activist whose father was murdered by a Palestinian, plus a Palestinian activist and a Palestinian farmer living near Hebron who says his land was bulldozed by Israelis.
