Freedom of Speech and the Fascist Wave 439

UPDATE

The people of Blackburn scored a vital victory today against the forces of fascism as “Tommy Robinson”‘s overweight racist disciples were met with an overwhelming show of solidarity in the street, of which I was proud with my friends to be a part.

The fascists like to attack defenceless targets. Faced with the prospect of real resistance, they ran away.

Poor little Tommy is not happy in his Spanish hideaway, where he lives his life as an immigrant.

Blackburn should be a model of how to face down the fascists.

Yesterday I received a phone call from a police Inspector asking me to delete my tweet calling for people to assemble to prevent the far-right demonstration called for Blackburn today and tweeted out by “Tommy Robinson”, the well-known immigrant to Spain with the false name.

She also asked me not to come to Blackburn myself, and said that members of the community had contacted her and said I was an outsider coming to Blackburn to make trouble.

I am therefore on a train to Blackburn, a place where a number of people have been telling me to leave for weeks, but I genuinely can’t walk down the street without being warmly greeted by name by random locals.

Although our conversation was perfectly friendly and I have no complaints about the police Inspector, who seemed to accept that her telling me not to come was unlikely to work, I do rather object to the police telling me what to do.

There are a number of interesting questions raised by this. There is a wave of anti-immigrant far-right violence spreading across the North of England – Sunderland, Southport, Hartlepool and elsewhere – and recently London saw the largest fascist demonstration for many years.

The horrific murders of the poor little girls in Southport at a dance class have been seized on by the far right to foment anti-immigrant violence. This is such a well-established pattern now across the country that it is impossible to deny.

And yet the police inspector who phoned me did deny it. She told me to be aware that three little girls had died and this was about commemorating them. I replied it was not about that at all; it was about stirring up racial hatred against a community who had no connection at all to the murder.

Blackburn’s newly elected independent MP, Adnan Hussain, has also issued a call to people not to gather to oppose any far-right demonstration today. I believe this is mistaken. The wave of fascist violence across the country has gathered momentum precisely because it breeds copycat activity. Fascism has to be confronted and stopped.

That is not just a matter of explaining that poverty and deprivation is not caused by immigration but by an economic system designed to produce massive inequality of wealth. Fascism has also to be nipped in the bud by denying them control of the street. That is what we achieved with the Anti-Nazi League 40-odd years ago.

If you do not confront fascism and defeat it, it will grow.

How does this stand with my strong commitment to free speech?

In On Liberty, the great John Stuart Mill argued that to state that corn merchants are thieves and profiteers who starve the poor was perfectly valid. But to shout the same thing to a howling mob outside a corn merchant’s house was not valid freedom of speech.

It is not just the words, it is their context. This is a crucial insight (and it also carries a pro-freedom of speech weight against the sledgehammer of hate speech legislation which denies the importance of context and seeks to condemn simple forms of speech).

And I have no doubt at all that as for the likes of “Tommy Robinson” to be encouraging anti-immigrant speech in the highly ethnically diverse town of Blackburn, in the context of widespread anti-immigrant violence, this fits perfectly with Mill’s exception to free speech in the case of the mob and the corn merchant.

I hope all goes quietly and my journey is quite unnecessary. There are multiple far-right demonstrations today and perhaps this will not be one of those that gets nasty. But I shall be there ready to profess my truth and my opposition to fascism if called for.

Allowing fascists to speak and sitting mute ourselves – or being prevented from speaking by the police – is completely the wrong prescription.

I very much hope I don’t get arrested because I have to dash back to speak at the Free Palestine Film Festival this evening, Genesis Cinema, Mile End Road, London. Yesterday’s opening night was great and I will blog about it when life is less fraught. There may still be tickets for tonight – phone the cinema to check.

Yaxley’s decision to leave the country was no coincidence. His legal advice must have been that outwith the UK he could not be arraigned for directing terrorism unless he went over the score on his social media.

These riots were planned in advance (the Reform vote at the GE showed there is support for such actions despite the fawning over Labour’s majority) and Starmer’s grip on MI5/6 has been revealed as tenuous. All that Rule Britannia crap and they have kept him in the dark same as they would have Corbyn. He’s had his card marked big time and it’s now either some form of totalitarian law regarding protest, or martial law.

Tommy Robinson was admired by Anders Breivik who had extensive links with the EDL including with Paul Ray. Both Robinson and Breivik expressed admiration for Melanie Phillips. Breivik was and is a nut but he absolutely was not a lone nut and he was helped and guided over a period of years. Right now it seems to me the fascist aim in Britain is to kill some people very very visibly, probably but not necessarily non-white British Muslims, to take things to the next level – and my use of gamer terminology is deliberate. Ten minutes’ research of Robinson’s history is sufficient to suggest the man is protected. It wouldn’t surprise me if Cyprus houses a node in the network.

The last thing that is needed now is deep divisions among anti-fascists or any great concentration on criticism of other anti-fascists. It is necessary to be aware that anti-fascist scenes too have been manipulated by the state, and not to let one’s own insights be subsumed, but it is fundamentally necessary to remember what side one is on, in what quite soon may take on the characteristics of war.

      • Lapsed Agnostic

Tommy Robinson hasn’t been that well protected by the UK authorities, Brian. He’s already had several stints in clink*, and may get another one before too long. He’s also only on holiday in Cyprus – his main residence is in Spain.

        * Of course, it’s possible that he could have been receiving protection whilst in jail, but that’s easier said than done – it only takes one lunatic with a ‘banked’ chiv.

“Cyprus houses a node in the network”

I did come across a rather problematic witness who suggested the topology of this network and Cyprus’ place within it was rather different.

To wit Cyprus was at centre of a wide-ranging intercontinental network of power projection, whereby a considerable number of states and organisations (5 eyes+1, EU, NATO, various dependencies etc) operated in a coordinated manner, in what I would characterise as a supranational “Theatre-wide Fusion Centre” ( Every American State has a “Fusion Centre” operated by DHS to coordinate the various branches of law enforcement, intelligence gathering etc), I was told this by a returning “contractor” around 2010. It all sounded rather imperial.

Cyprus has played a crucial role in the attack on West Asia and still does. Whether this translates to support of of the above statement I’m not in position to say but I would not be surprised if it did. Nasrallah mentioned the island recently and not in a good way. It used to owned by the Frankish Kings of Jerusalem in the days of Outremer of old, a feudal possession then. I wonder if the King of Jerusalem still owns it lol

Is it Cyprus though, or rather TPTB in Cyprus?
The UK and NATO operate freely within the sovereign territories within Cyprus.
The UN has a heavy presence in Cyprus, this includes Israeli forces.
Cyprus is a favorite spot for young Israelis to holiday (and brush up on their rapist skills).
Rich Israelis own various properties within Cyprus, where recuperating IOF members are hosted.
On visits, I never had the impression that the man in the street was happy with this situation.

          • will moon

And as the riots occur “Tommy Robinson” is where?

Oh yes he happens to be in Cyprus

Necking smakky Garrys whilst attending raves in Aya Napa with attendant long Ket comedown or coordinating with command and control elements of a supranational war machine – you decide Stevie Boy lol

Brian Red, the Independent seems to be redirecting the link you posted. Your link ends “-news-b2591141.html”, but the URL of the page that currently opens ends “-tamworth-b2591721.html”, and does not include your concluding quote. You need to use an archived copy to keep content consistent with your links.

The page I landed at also includes a misleadingly titled link. It claims that “a far-right mob and anti-racist demonstrators (my emphasis) clashed in Plymouth”, but the linked content has no mention of anti-racist demonstrators.

RE: The army. There was a story a couple of days ago when a black woman left the army after years of abuse concerning her colour. She claimed that soldiers had swastikas and confederate flags in their barracks, i.e: a tad right-wing. So, would it be. good idea to put the troops on the street?

One of the reasons for the unrest must also be the dire economical conditions in some towns. There are a host of videos online showing bleak, empty town centres with no shops except the Bookies, Vape shops, Pound shops; soulless and dystopian. On one programme the local interviewed inferred that it was down to corruption of the mostly Pakistani councillors, So perhaps things run a little more deeply than the +-dimensional ‘far-right’.
Private Eye regularly prints stories of local authority corruption which can lead to dying towns and misplaced resentment.

I was with a friend in Staffs many years ago and I said: “Let’s cut through here”. “NO chance, mate, that’s the Scottish ęstate, we’ll get a smacking.¨

The Scots had come down for the mines and after 2 or more generations still wanted their patch free from English footprints. Migration and communities buffering up together brings troubles even if the migrants are similar to the natives.
Vance Packard’s ‘A Nation of Strangers’ might help people realise that just dumping people en masse in wholly different communities makes problems that tend to exacerbate daily life. Of course the chattering classes and good people tend to dismiss this and plump for racism or other catch-all, ignore the underlying causes phrase, probably because their mates are on the council and are making a nice little bit of white-collar crime [i.e. undermining the local finances to line their own pockets, services etc. reduced, crime rises and the working classes can be renamed thugs, crime, racists whatever – lock ’em up in this prisons which we just emptied a few weeks ago.]

    • joel

Look closely. In reality none of the politicians or media are using the word racist, anymore than they do in relation to what’s being done to Gaza. That includes the vanguard of woke lib ‘anti-racism’, the Guardian and BBC. You are quite safe.

      • Brian Red

Pakistani councillors are mostly part of the business network and as corrupt as hell, but this is not the cause of the devastation in British cities or areas within them. It is true that the controllers of the media are avoiding the word “racist” as much as possible, preferring “far right”. This must be a result of a central decision. Lower down commanders – whether in the police or on local Home Office committees, or in schools or the state health service or the various state “counter-disinformation” structures (which are extensive) – are doubtless being told the idea is to keep a lid on things, but the actual use of the media and politics (and of them themselves) at this stage is in the exact opposite direction. This is quite clear to those of us who have built up over the years an understanding of the centralised use of propaganda.
I will read Packard on a “nation of strangers”. Works by him that I have read contain much insight.

        • Brian Red

Incidentally the idea that Elon Musk is an independent operator who acts impulsively with his big mouth is rubbish. For a way into understanding his role, consider that an outfit such as the British state has had an ambassador to Silicon Valley. And believe me, the top figures in the Valley know all about nudging, or propaganda to give it a less cuddly name.

Musk’s personal image is carefully crafted, and don’t forget it wasn’t his own money that he bought Twitter with.

        • Ewan2

About Packard’s books “The Wastemakers’ is good, it contains a chapter called ‘Progress through Planned Chaos’ and in the chapter ‘Hedonism for the Masses’ the origin of the philosophy of ‘change’, later promoted via Bob Dylan and The Byrds with ‘The Times are a-Changing’.
In ‘The Pyramid Climbers’ he claims that as people climb the pyramid they become dehumanised. The first chapter is ‘The Botch-Goddess Raises her Demands’, while my cover has the eye in the pyramid with the pyramid replaced by an executive chair.
Thank you both for correcting my over zealous use of the word ‘racist’.

His books are not reprinted so all 2nd-Hand. My ‘Nation of Strangers’ has pages that are just about to fall out.

Shadow libraries are your special friends: Library Genesis (https://libgen.rs/), Sci-Hub (https://sci-hub.ru/) and Z-Library (https://singlelogin.rs/) and Anna’ Blog/Archive (https://annas-archive.se/? and https://annas-archive.org/) which acts as a mirror for all the former in case they go down permanently. Happy reading!

Although Z-Library had always been in the sights of the “copyright/”digital rights” sharks, because the academic/literary sector was lower-profile/lower profit margin than the music and movie sectors (hello Kim Dotcom), nothing systematic was really done about them until November 2022 (https://torrentfreak.com/z-library-aftermath-reveals-that-the-feds-seized-dozens-of-domain-names-221107/) when a link on a TikTok book thread to a pulp fiction title hosted on Z-Library sent traffic to the site crazy. The Authors Guild (who “represent the interests of writers” but can’t even correctly punctuate their own organisation’s name) together with other lame dogsbodies encouraged the FBI to step in and the first of many (thankfully) unsuccessful attempts to completely shut the site down commenced.

I mention all this only to emphasise that It is important to only use the current link above to access Z-Library because older ones are either dead links, seized sites seeded with viruses by the FBI or spam sites trying to cash-in on the confusion. You will be notified if the safe address changes, but also be aware that you will occasionally receive emails from the spam sites trying to direct you to “alternative” real addresses.

            “Let’s be careful out there.”

The former head of counter-terrorism agrees with the Manchester Muslims’ perspective above; the riots are terrorism. Neil Basu, who held the top counter-terror job between 2018 and 202, is completely forthright about it; the riots

“…have crossed the line into terrorism… I hope my successors are looking at that very closely…. I think we have seen serious acts of violence designed to cause terror to a section of our community… Yaxley-Lennon knows well he’s in the full glare of policing, counter-terrorism policing, and the security service… If he is not crossing a legal threshold, then the government and society need to consider if that threshold is in the wrong place”

However, the BBC headline downplayed his remarks:

“Ex-police chief likens riots to terrorism” (my emphasis):

In the US 9/11 was exploited by the state to smother the left. There is a danger that Starmer will now use the anti-immigrant riots as justification to curtail the right to demonstrate in general. Indeed this may have been the object of these riots in the first place. The media is already working to create an equivalence between demonstrations in support of ‘British values’ and those calling for a ceasefire. The Israel-friendly right – in which grouping I include Starmer and his LFI cabinet – has always hated the pro-Palestine marches and feared their very considerable impact on public opinion. These riots may provide the perfect excuse for closing them down.

Incitement – Searchlight Magazine succeeds where the BBC failed:

It was Tommy Robinson’s right hand man and former bodyguard Danny Tommo (real name Daniel Thomas) who, last Monday just after the Southport murders, went online broadcasting to tens of thousands, screaming that “Every city has to go up”; a call to action that is now having dreadful consequences in communities around the country.

“Every city has to go up.

“Get prepared. Be ready. We have to.

“It has to go off in different cities.

“We have to show them we’ve had enough…”

    – BBC Verify tried to establish on Friday where the first call for riot had come from. They concluded that it was an anonymous Twitter account in the name of ‘Lord Simon’ whom they described as “an influencer associated with Yaxley-Lennon” (ie Tommy Robinson).

    – Had they looked a little closer they would perhaps have noticed that the video in question, uploaded to that account, was Danny Tommo’s original YouTube video. Yes, it was definitely he who first called for riots.

Quick search gives this. The DailyMail article of December 2020
          https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9081005/Tommy-Robinsons-right-hand-man-cocaine-fuelled-affair-married-communications-director.html
“Tommy Robinson’s right-hand man is alleged to have had a cocaine-fuelled affair with a married US communications director who is now a Texas congressman’s communications director.
Danny Tommo, real name Daniel Thomas, is alleged to have had a sexual relationsihp with Lisa Barbounis while she worked for a think tank that had pledged money to support Robinson.
Court documents suggest Thomas, 31, would buy cocaine for Mrs Barbounis while she was in the UK helping the ‘Free Tommy Robinson’ campaign on behalf of the Middle East Forum – an American conservative organisation.”
“Married mother Mrs Barbounis now works as communications director for Texas congressman Randy Weber ”

Mr. Randy Weber says he is not going to call for a ceasefire in Gaza, he doesn’t see the conflict as genocide, and claims that Israel “has the right to do whatever they want to do” answering the question on killing of innocent civilians and starving kids to death

It is childish to simply label the riots as ‘fascism’ and ‘racism’. It would be a lot more accurate to label them as a consequence of the continued war by the oligarchy, represented in government by both the conservative and labour parties, against the working classes. One part of this war has been the mass importation of dirt poor migrants from the third world into Britain. The migrants were used to undercut wages at the bottom of the end. This causes great suffering for the most vulnerable of the local populations and increased profits for the oligarchs. Just to make it worse for the locals the migrants brought in came from very different cultures and were often extremely hostile and violent towards the locals. The clash between the migrant scabs and the locals suited the oligarchy as it reduced any cooperation between them and reduces the probability of coordinated strikes and other industrial action.
Yes a lot of the recent riots were inflamed by zionist tools such as Stephen Yaxley-Lennon in a futile attempt to help Israels causes, but the vast majority of those protesting did so peacefully and predominantly against mass migration rather than muslims.

    • Clark

It is childish to simply label the riots as ‘fascism’ and ‘racism’.

Nonsense. If rioters attack brown people and accommodation for asylum seekers, that is fascist and racist. It is NOT protest against the government.

“The migrants… were often extremely hostile and violent towards the locals.”

Lies; I have never encountered hostility or violence from an immigrant, and only rarely read reports of such.

“the vast majority of those protesting did so peacefully and predominantly against mass migration rather than muslims”

A lie and nonsense; the riots were specifically called against Muslim and immigrant targets, by known racists. You’d have to be a racist to respond, and even if you just gravitated towards a crowd you saw, you should remove your support when you saw how they were behaving.

Lies and nonsense; this comment is apologism for racism and fascism disguised with and exploiting Left wing concerns.

      • Lapsed Agnostic

Re: ‘Lies; I have never encountered hostility or violence from an immigrant, and only rarely read reports of such.’

Can I ask where you live again, Clark? The posh part of Essex? Luckily for me, I was never on the receiving end of any real violence when I lived in central Middlesbrough – but that doesn’t mean that it never happens there:

        https://x.com/NotFarLeftAtAll/status/1820532223587811442

(Warning: Contains violence & bad language)

Looks like Brits are in the trenches again. By the way, that occurred a used hypodermics’ throw from the place I used to call home, and there’s also plenty of footage online of similar incidents nearby.

        • Clark

Lapsed Agnostic, it seems your experience accords with my own; not sure what you think you’re contradicting…

I indeed live in Essex these days, in a parish full of travellers as it goes – the cold war electronics industry of Chelmsford brought them here – but I have lived in and visit many places; just on my way back from Bradford and Heckmondwike as it goes. No trouble there either 🙂

          • Lapsed Agnostic

The point I was trying to make, Clark, was that just because something hasn’t happened to you personally doesn’t mean that it isn’t happening to other people. I’d put folding money on several of the people kicking that guy into the trench being fairly recent immigrants. The reason for this is that I know that the Muslim population of Middlesbrough has increased from 2-3% when I was living there to over 10% now, and I doubt there have been too many conversions in that period. (I’d like to stress that I don’t know the full context behind the footage – the white guy might have been putting bricks through people’s windows, something that happened quite a bit on Sunday from what I’ve seen – or he and the others might just have been random white blokes getting a good kicking.)

I’d imagine that the reason there wasn’t any trouble in Bradford or Heckmondwike was because those places have large Pakistani populations, and anyone trying anything there would be given short shrift. (As an aside, I got picked up by the rozzers in Heckmondwike a few years back for leaving a birthday cake outside someone’s house – some idiot curtain-twitcher thought it could have been a bomb.)

        Spot on, Clark.

You fascists don’t have a very sophisticated level of pseudo-intellectualism. Very easy to see you coming.

There may be a “continued war by the oligarchy, represented in government by both the conservative and labour parties, against the working classes” but these riots are obviously planned, organised and paid for, perhaps not by someone who cares about the interests of that class.

    Conversation

    David Miller
    @Tracking_Power

What’s causing the Islamophobic riots across the UK, and why now?

    1. The riots have been instigated by the Zionist asset Stephen Yaxley-Lennon (‘Tommy Robinson’), who has been working for the State of Israel since 2009 as part of the so-called ‘counterjihad’ Islamophobia movement established by that state. When his organisation, the English Defence League, was incorporated in 2011, two years after its inception, it was named the English & Jewish Defence League. The Jewish Defence League, a Zionist terrorist organisation, has been a key part of violent Islamophobic street thuggery in the UK over the past decade.

    2. Yaxley-Lennon is one of the most high-profile actors in the State of Israel’s Online Influencers Programme in response to Operation Al-Aqsa Storm. He and others, like Oli London, Noa Tishby, Hen Mazzig, Arsen Ostrovsky and Emily Schrader (and many others) are paid to distribute Zionist propaganda, of which pushing back against pro-Palestine protests and sowing Islamophobia are two important and interlinked aims.

    3. The recent Islamophobic riots in the UK should be seen as the latest phase of the State of Israel’s war on British Muslims, who it sees as originating the protest movement in the UK. These riots are designed to punish Muslims for their anti-Zionist sentiment after various other methods to suppress opposition to Zionism by the State of Israel have been thwarted. The State of Israel’s attempts to use its assets and operatives in the British political and media class — such as Suella Braverman and Michael Gove — to thwart pro-Palestinian protests have failed. Zionist counter-protests have failed to mobilise significant numbers. Sporadic Zionist thuggery and the use of other assets — such as Iranian secularist extremists — have also failed to intimidate Muslims. So now the State of Israel is weaponising its cannon fodder on the white nationalist far-right, who have greater numbers than either Zionist street thugs or Iranian monarchists and secularist extremists.

    4. Finally, there are also questions about which actor authored the idea that Muslims were responsible for the ostensible triggers for these events. MI6 and its assets (e.g. Paul Mason) are desperately trying to pretend this was a Russian disinfo op. But the original stories did not come from Russia. Where did they come from?

    1. Front man Elon at X: “Civil war in Britain is inevitable.” (He doesn’t mean between royalists and republicans. He means race war.)

    2. Front man in Number 10, aka Genocide Keir: “Elon is so naughty. We will defend Muslim communities.”

    3. Elon: “How about you defend all communities?” (He means it’s white people who are under invasion and replacement.)

    4. The British traditional media: “Hey everyone, look at this important exchange of views. We saw it on Twitter.X.”

What this is is theatre to stretch the envelope. Elon Musk and Keir Starmer and the mainstream media editors are all given their orders from the same place.

Watch out for wall-to-wall mention of Muslim communities (side by side with leftwing anti-racists who don’t trust the police) waving Palestinian flags and being concerned with a place a long way away from Britain called Gaza, rather than supposed proper white homeland issues like taxation and the NHS.

If it sounds like a British version of the US national Guard then I suspect it will be in the end.

The Gendarmes where I live in France are there to “Protect The Republic”. It doesn’t specify which “public” they have to protect and which “public” they have to protect against.

The US National Guard were expected to protect The Republic too but when the Clarion Call went out in the attack on Washington – they were nowhere to be seen.

For Conspiracy Theorists it could all be falling into place – hence a lot of equals signs in the MSM protecting their ‘British Values’ – as yet not stated outright or honestly and this is why despite all the liberal rhetoric; no politics is being discussed or argued over.

It’s emotion – moralism and the fake pretence by all those with power to pretend that they are ‘inclusive’ whilst busying themselves with their actual ‘exclusive’ activity under the banner of Neo-liberal economics and austerity across the Western World. The fact is – is if politics were discussed amongst the masses then the real (economic) agenda would become known to all.

The Guardian re: Venezuela is an Orwellian sight to behold. Maduro had a lot of oil he wasted the money from oil as he was a profligate lefty with crazy ideas of distribution. Their gold has been nicked – two Iranian Oil Tankers have been nicked and the refineries in the US are not allowed to refine Venezuelan oil (there’s a lot of it) and CITGO has a load of legal eagles who sprang up from the Chavez era claiming back ‘their oil’ in the US Trade Courts.

Makes Russian Oligarchs look like The Women’s Institute. International Lawfare under the International Rules-based (read US rules) order. The US mantra – bomb it then nick it.

Perhaps some journalists on the Guardian can’t read – it looks like they are selective readers if they can.

Good news in a dark time: Harris has chosen Tim Walz, Governor of Minnesota, as her VP running-mate. The fear was that the job would go to Josh Shapiro, a Zionist who likened the pro-Palestine protestors to the KKK. Walz is the closest we will get to a VP in the Bernie Sanders mould who is acceptable to middle America.

No doubt Harris will now come under fire from Israel supporters as an antisemite. No-one not paid by AIPAC will take this seriously. Harris’s first job, if she wins election, will be to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East. That means being a lot tougher on Israel – difficult if she had had Shapiro muttering in her ear.

    • Greg Park

There’s a determined effort to portray her as being anti-genocide so people of conscience can vote for her. A great deal will be made of her appointing this lesser zionist as her deputy. Correspondingly little will be heard about her silence (at best) over the last 10 months, the 5 million dollars she has personally received from AIPAC or the hundreds of millions her campaign has been given by zionist billionaires like Hollywood mogul Haim Saban ( “I’m a one issue guy, and the issue is Israel”). Propaganda by omission, I believe it’s termed.

      • Kuhnberg

Harris is not good on this issue but she has to at least pretend to be better than Biden in order to draw in the progressive base. It’s not a breakthrough but it’s a crack in the armour and public support may widen it further. With WW3 looming I’d rather have soft liberals calling the shots than Zionist war-hawks.

        • Greg Park

What do you mean? Kamala Harris is one of the hardest core zionists in American politics. She has been supporting a racist genocide, with no red lines, for 10 months.

          • Kuhnberg

No politician can defy the pressure of history indefinitely. As public opinion shifts so do the principles of those who have none.

          • Greg Park

There was another significant and telling episode in Democrat land yesterday with anti genocide representative Cori Bush getting primaried by a pro genocide candidate, one sponsored to the tune of 7 million dollars by AIPAC.

It is being widely noted that a party usually very vocal about the importance of Black women in politics has had nothing to say about a white ethnonationalist organisation, acting on behalf of a foreign government, primarying its most principled and inspirational Black congresswoman.

        • Johnny Conspiranoid

Harris, Biden and Trump are all zionist war hawks. The pretence that they are anything else comes up every election. You should have worked that out by now.
People who are not zionist war hawks are not allowed anywhere near public office.

          • Kuhnberg

Israel can’t survive without changing, and possibly not even then. An apartheid state, like all forms of tyranny, has to be kept in place by brute force. Even tyrants – or their children – become exhausted by the struggle to remain cruel. That’s little consolation for the millions dying in Gaza but I refuse to believe that this abomination is a permanent state of affairs.

Let’s not forget what the Fascist are aiming to distract from and engineer a ziofascist wider war with the new ziofascist government of the U.K. and it’s new fuehrer brave sir Keir to lead us to a idyll that can never exist. Like a unicorn and the final destruction of freedom of speech – by jackboot and brown short innngerrlaaand tools, collective wasters of their ziofascist masters.

‘Why can’t we kill all Palestinians and steal all their lands and lives?’

“Smotrich: It may be ‘justified’ to starve 2 million Gazans, but world won’t let us

The agit prop ‘riots’ and mah cunterry type rioters, which precedes the paramilitary policing that is coming with draconian actions to disrupt the protest marches against genocide and our social media communications so that controlled ziofascist owned and run media propaganda can disseminate unhindered.

And so the ziofascists can carry on with the extermination supported by our dalek starmztrooper.

“Without a sympathetic media, Israel’s powerful military would be next to useless in its attempts to ethnically cleanse Gaza. It relies on crucial Western support for its project, and no one is as important in manufacturing consent for Israel as Rupert Murdoch. The Australian-born press baron has close and extensive personal ties to the Israeli political elite and myriad business connections to the country. He has used his media empire to defend Israel and sing its praises, even amidst an attack on Gaza commonly condemned as genocidal. As such, his holdings effectively serve as an unofficial arm of the Israeli propaganda machine.”

I had only vaguely heard of Dilbert, but a quick Google search shows this at the top of the list. Dated February 2023.
“The comic strip Dilbert has been dropped from multiple US newspapers in response to racist comments by its creator, Scott Adams, who called Black Americans a “hate group” and urged white people to “get the hell away” from Black people in a YouTube video”.
So much for taking any notice of what Dilbert says.

I’ve said it a thousand times – and I’ll say it again, the Zionists genocide of the Palestinians will only be stopped by force – all the talking in the world won’t change Netanyahu’s mind, he has the backing of the USA the UK and German governments to continue.

One possible solution is for the half-decent Israeli’s (if there are any left in Israel) is to storm the Knesset and take control back before its too late – but they’d better get a move on, as time is running out to stop a regional war – where Israel will surely be one of the major casualties of the conflict.

  • James Cavendish

Pity you weren’t having a wee dram or whatever in the The Clumsy Swan in Birmingham last night. You might have greater appreciation of the issue.

    • David Warriston

      What is ‘the issue?’

Initially I understood it was a violent protest against an illegal immigrant who had stabbed three children to death and wounded several more. Since it was assumed he was Muslim this was claimed as a justification to surround a mosque and throw stones at the building.

When that version of events was shown to be wholly untrue, the violent protests then degenerated into riotous behaviour, in one instance attempting to burn down a building housing asylum seekers. The pretext of ‘saving our kids’ -the initial ‘issue’ -was simply forgotten.

So I am not sure what ‘the issue’ is, as of today. I have heard some claims that ‘the issue’ is illegal immigration, hence the chants of ‘Stop the boats.’ But this takes some believing in Sunderland or Middlesbrough where I doubt many dinghys pull onto the shore of a morning.

      • Nota Tory Fanboy

The fascists lack the intellectual rigour to riposte your points, David. Just like when you point out that immigration is either a net positive or effectively zero difference to UK GDP, the fascists fail to ask “what did the *Government* do with that money?”, instead choosing to blame foreigners (whilst forgetting that they themselves wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for historical foreigners and that there’s really no such thing as being “British”)…

    • Crispa

If this is the issue we must appreciate, this account reads like a good piece of conflict resolution to me. From Birmingham Live
“Muslim community activists stepped in with handshakes and apologies after news emerged that a city pub had been the scene of a violent incident last night during unrest. The group of well known community figures, led by Naveed Sadiq – known as ‘bearded bey’ – stepped in after learning of a violent attack at the Clumsy Swan pub in Stoney Lane involving young Muslim thugs wearing balaclavas and masks. ——–
(Mr Sadiq) turns to one pubgoer, who uses a wheelchair, to add: “You were in the pub, it must have been horrifying, but again I wish to apologise on our behalf.” The man responds: “You don’t have to apologise for everybody, it is only a small minority on everybody’s side, you don’t have to apologise for the people that are bad, like I don’t have to apologise for the idiots.”
      Sage words.

I see Elon Musk keep egging on the situation, UK should temporarily ban Twitter/X by now, as their childish and reckless boss facilitate and spread racist hatepropaganda.

Musk’s grandfather seems to be as nutty as Musk himself:
This all unfolded amid the release of Walter Isaacson’s new biography of Musk. Musk’s family history has a bearing on the dispute, but, in the book, as I pointed out in a review, Isaacson only glancingly discusses Musk’s grandfather J. N. Haldeman, whom he presents as a risk-taking adventurer and whose politics he dismisses as “quirky.” In fact, Haldeman was a pro-apartheid, antisemitic conspiracy theorist who blamed much of what bothered him about the world on Jewish financiers.
    https://www.newyorker.com/news/daily-comment/the-world-according-to-elon-musks-grandfather

But instead of jews, Elon Musk blame people of color, LGBTQ, immigrants, muslims, arabs for every ill.

  • Brian Red

Elon Skum is reprising Ann Coulter. See her role in circulating an account of the attacks in Cologne railway station on New Year’s Eve of 2015-16. Musk is a white South African and he is VERY well aware of the power of the racist idea that over-sexed non-white men abuse white men’s wives and daughters, given half a chance.

Donald Trump says he will do an interview with Musk next Monday. I saw on another site some supposedly worldly wise people suggesting that Musk may alpha Trump. He won’t. He didn’t alpha Netanyahu either.

It seems to me that timings are being calibrated in connection with the next engagements of the Israeli armed forces. Neither Iran nor Hezbollah have responded with force yet to the Israeli assassinations.

Expect surprises, not necessarily limited to the Middle East, the USA, and Britain.

    • Brian Red

Probably the reason why some people think Musk will AMOG Trump is because they’d enjoy watching him.

That is so sad. It is pathetic. Perhaps they regret not being able to watch their hero the lardarsed Musk beat up Mark Zuckerberg in the Colosseum. Which was never going to happen. Hopefully the Trump interview won’t happen either. But I fear it will.

I am forced to comment at this point that if Liberace had a preference among today’s motorcar brands he’d probably enjoy driving a Tesla.

  • Brian Red

Humza Yousaf, who was forced out of office because he opposed genocide in Gaza, as also was Leo Varadkar in Ireland, has said he may have to flee Scotland and Britain because of Islamophobia:

    https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/politics/scottish-politics/5053064/dundee-humza-yousaf-scotland-islamophobia/

This is the guy whom the white South African Elon Skum falsely and dishonestly accused of racism last year.

Those who oppose fascism and racism need unity. This has not always been true in the past, but it is true now.

I write as a unionist. The position one adopts on Scottish separatism has nothing to do with this matter.

  • AussieBruce

But how many immigrants is enough? To dismiss these concerns with the smear of ‘facist’ is antifa level. Every western nation is now ‘multicultural’, but nobody was asked. Even if the vast majority of immigrants are as advertised, the locals were still never consulted. Mr Murray advocates for self-determination in Scotland, surely this also means that the Scots (and English, Welsh) can choose the levels of immigration? I believe it does. If they choose to not be replaced, this should be respected. I also believe that mass immigration is not intended to benefit anyone but the usual suspects, whom Mr Murray knows much better than I do. They target him personally, often enough.
The white working class have legitimate concerns, particularly around two-tier policing. And the Rotheram rape gangs were very real. It has been noted that these rape gangs had a religious element to them, and specifically targeted white women. Now clearly this was minority criminal elements, and doesn’t reflect on anyone but the criminals themselves. However, the state covered this up, and we may ask why. To avoid offending muslims? Starmer just baited every white Englishman, and didn’t seem worried about offending anyone.
People have different values. I personally have no interest in living in a ‘multicultural’ society, and think nations work best when homogenous. Note, homogenous doesn’t mean ‘we are the master race, jack’, it just means the vast majority of the nation were born there, and share similar culture and values. This applies to Scotland as it does to China or India. It’s not utopia, just a workable society. If someone wants to call me racist or fascist, I increasingly just ignore them. Whilst I know Mr Murray is an erudite fellow, I doubt your average MP is. So a journalistic challenge for our ever busy host. Go chat to some of the protestors? Put on the journalist hat and interview them. I’d be interested in this piece, if it gets written. I don’t mean Tommy Robinson, or some of the dubious characters on ‘the right’, actual protestors with concerns. Some of them may indeed have fascist leanings, but I bet most don’t.
I’d also observe that Starmer is clearly a rather sinister figure. I’m not sure who doesn’t know this, but it would appear fairly clear, to this poster. He may not be as smart as Bliar, but he is as ruthless. A concern.

    • David Warriston

‘If they choose to not be replaced, this should be respected.’
I’m sure the aborigine peoples would echo that sentiment.

I have worked in a few countries over my working life and any values I have seen were always universal, not the propriety of any particular place. Traditions, habits, social norms vary a little of course but what I would term ‘values’ exist irrespective of national borders.

      • joel

I think the world has clocked some very distinct western values since October last year. Delivered not by Trump and Bannon but by impeccably liberal governments from North America to Europe and Australasia.

Will western liberals continue dishing out scoldings about values in the wake of Gaza? Everything suggests they will.

    • DunGroanin

Anyone who insists on using the antediluvian deluded description “white working class” needs to understand they are referring to a palette of pinky shades – Gammon describes it better.
How many immigrants were enough into Oz?
The opposite end of the planet to where they came from.
      On Boats!
      Many dying on the way.

Were the locals consulted? Have they ever been?

Plenty of that level of European gammon activity for centuries right up to the gammon mass invasion of the Levant in the 40’s. They didn’t ask the locals either afaik.

I think it would only be fair if all migrants were to return to where they originated from, including the gammons. Working classes and aristos.

      Fair deal?

      • Rhamphotyphlops

The aboriginal people often echo that sentiment, and are justified in doing so. Many aborigines actively resisted colonisation but were ultimately unsuccessful. I struggle to see why the aborigines failure to stop the colonisation of Austrialia and means that the British masses should be forced to accept colonisation in the UK.

        • DunGroanin

          Rham.
There is NO mass colonisation of the U.K. taking place, like the British masses went and violently, murderously, colonised far-away places from our suddenly precious, oh so teeny tiny, island Ex-Empire.

Any fuckwit believing the problem is the mythical mass immigration does not accept that what they demand – a return of those peoples back to where they came from obviously implies a return of all the emigrants from our shores back to here!

      • glenn_nl

        R:

Nobody is ‘colonising’ the UK any more than I am currently ‘colonising’ Holland, or than I personally was ‘colonising’ the US for about a decade back in the day.

No… I haven’t engaged in any colonial massacres, nor have I ever corralled a load of natives into some undesirable area, booting them off their lands, etc etc.

Really surprising you can’t tell the difference.

    • Stevie Boy

      Well said sir.
Our host appears to have too much time on his hands now that Assange has been ‘released’ and is going down the antifa path rather than concentrating on his core strengths.
A lot of ordinary people in the UK are not happy with the immigration problem, and haven’t been for many years. But apparently we are all just closet fascists, who would’ve known, I guess a lot of the WW2 war dead would have also been classified nowadays as fascists. Funny old world. No point in fighting for people’s freedoms let them reap what they sow.
      https://www.rt.com/news/602239-uk-riots-far-right/

      • Johnny Conspiranoid

Somebody might be ignoring the real problem and blaming it on the far right but the far right still exists and the people doing organised attacks on the police and muslims are obviously part of it. They aren’t doing it because they care about the real problem.

        • Stevie Boy

Yes. And the far right, far left and football hooligans have always existed, but they are a minority and don’t represent the masses who still remain pee’d off, with good reason.

          • Nota Tory Fanboy

The thing is, Stevie Boy, you (I mean general “you” – the skinheads out committing violence – not you specifically) don’t get to declare that you have “legitimate concerns” about immigration if you continue to blame and enact pogroms upon immigrants, asylum seekers, refugees, anyone with a darker-than-Gammon complexion, anyone who doesn’t follow “Christianity” (especially if it’s Islam), as if no crimes have ever been committed by White middle-aged “Christian” men, when it’s not the fault of any of those minority groups; it’s the fault of far right wing politicians exploiting your ignorance and racist supremacism, as well as your own fault for continuing to vote those fascists into power when they blow their dog whistle.

      • DunGroanin

Stevie boy you mean Out of the Closet Zio Fascists.
That’s what we are made to be, and they don’t like us being anti mass-murdering land-stealing ziofascists.
Hence we have to be subjected to this Punch and Judy pantomime.

b on Moon of Alabama has a drastic post on Gaza.
He initially was doubtful about the scale but not any more.
    b quotes Tarik Cyril Amar

    “(…)
Gaza is a method. A Western method. Fascist, Zionist, apartheid, sadistic Israel is a pioneer, a trailblazer into yet more evil to be done from those above to those below. That is why those above will shield Israel. They are shielding themselves and their future deeds.
    (…)”
    and himself concludes:

“I was in doubt about this theory when I first read it. But by now I think that the elite are really planing like this. It is the only explanation that makes sense and it also consistent and fits with their increasing endorsement of pure fascism be it in Israel or in Ukraine.”

Pointedly it´s by the date of August 6th which is a coincidence of course but it offers enough material to expand.

      The great reset?

So how was this young black lad from Cardiff groomed to be the catalyst to kick everything off? He said he was doing it for the children of Gaza.

Are we now to be identified by our responses to this atrocity?

Starmer had emptied the prisons. The Just Stop Oil activists who were planning to blockade the M25 have received long jail sentences for planning it but not carrying it out.

Protests against Israeli Arms producers in the UK continue.

British holiday makers all over Europe are facing a concerted Go Home campaign. The attacks on Muslim homes on Teeside happened on the same date as Kristallnacht?

Flights to Tel Aviv are being stopped by some airlines.

And the BBC keeps calm and pretends things still are as we thought they actually were before October 6th. This may be for the best. This is a kind of hiatus time where we have a new government and the US has a senile leader, leading up to their election. Much can happen in the interim and Israel is the main power broker, however we look at it.

      • GratedApe

Is that fake news about stated motive of Axel Rudakubana, to counter other fake news?

Why might Taylor Swift have been relevant to him btw. Apparently been silent on israel/palestine. Attended a show in aid of Gazan refugees. A bodyguard went to Israel.

“ doing it for the children of Gaza.”

Do you have a source for this Alyson?

I ask because of the harm rumours about the motive and provenance of this attacker have caused already

        • Alyson

Fair point, Will. I recall reading he had said this to police, but if he did there is no record of it that I can find, and I guess there shouldn’t be if he did say it, since there will be a court case in due course. And he may well not have said it at all, but for it just to have been alleged as a motive. There is too much misinformation and deliberate disinformation going around which contributes to the partisan nature of people’s reactions.

But the widespread violence now erupting across the country seems to have been well planned in advance of this tragic event.

          • Stevie Boy

I don’t see any evidence that the violence is planned. It looks more like opportunists taking advantage of the nice summer weather. I suggest that if it was raining and miserable most of the violent rabble would not be outdoors.
However, if you spot Victoria Nuland handing out biscuits I will admit to being wrong. 🙂

The Nagasaki Peace Memorial Ceremony marks the 79th anniversary of the US atomic bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, which killed over 246,000 people, most of whom were civilians, and inflicted many more deaths due to radiation poisoning.
Julia Longbottom, the UK’s ambassador to Japan, told local reporters that Israel is acting in self-defense in Gaza and should not be equated with Russia for its invasion of Ukraine. This statement beggars belief, how can an important Ambassador still come out with the ‘self defence’ argument? Is this still the Foreign office line, ignoring the ICC and ICJ judgements? Disgusting.

  • JohnnyOh45

My worry is that this orchestrated “far right” public disorder/domestic terrorism will prompt our legislators to take additional steps to protect the Public by enacting further draconian legislation to outlaw demonstrations.and ban any inflammatory speech; i.e. Stop the Genocide in Gaza. I suspect our cousins across the pond will be observing how successfully this process is managed in preparation for their own election in November and the denouement Ukraine and Gaza.

    Apologies for any typos

    • DunGroanin

That was the exact purpose of the Fear and Loathing to get civil unrest
Using the local poor youth who are on school holidays and therefore stuck, no school dinners, no spending money and create a ‘riot’ where they would fight against police provocation and set some fires, some looting.

This would play straight into the hands of the fascist racists who believe there are too many ‘coloured’ people in the country and many too many Muslims protesting about Palestine. Hence draconian laws which are ready to be fast tracked would be implemented – it just needed an excuse.
Including normalising the idea of Army on the Streets!!
How the paramilitaries of German nazism started if people know their history.

Unfortunately for the Fascists, the collective British peoples, many who have been turning out to support Gaza for the whole year, from all shades of Brits – turned out to n masse to protect their neighbourhoods from the threats.
This led to a peaceful, joyful, owning of our own streets.
The youths lured there were not therefore able to be led into rioting and the massive numbers of TV and Press photographers have nowt to show for all that planning except happy, multi ethnic, multi cultural modern British.

That has rather put a spanner in their works and a scrambling for new narratives after having set up the doom and fear. Bothe amongst the media and parliamentarians.
It’s comical. But they’ll try again. Because they have no reverse gear.

      • David Warriston

That’s how I see it myself. The decision to make the ‘counter protests’ in some areas a musical, celebratory event has left GB News and its ilk open mouthed. Not even a heroic thin blue line narrative can be used since the police were scarcely needed.

Notice how those counselling against counter demonstrations (often from the pseudo left) have suddenly been struck dumb.

Starmer has been bailed out by the people but they shouldn’t expect much thanks since they have merely exposed the limitations of his rule. He trusts the police and the judiciary (note how he has identified his swift justice system as the key component) more than he trusts the people.

  • squirrel

Note how “The Boogieman” has changed. The boogieman is the entity which we are asked to fear, in order to shepherd us through the next stage of the elite agenda which ends up a one world totalitarian state. I have noticed that there is only one boogieman at a time – otherwise focus is lost.

It was the Russians. Of course the Russians weren’t really any threat whatsoever. But that kept us occupied and giving vast amounts of our energy to the military industrial complex.

Then it was Islamic Terror. Of course, we facilitated their attacks ourselves, and the result was the erosion of personal freedoms for our “security”. The protection racket.

Now it is the endgame so Islam is all warm and cuddly – let us not concern ourselves with their attitudes to women or gay people. The boogieman are the libertarians, those who would refuse vaccines, or dare I say it complain about mass, uncontrolled immigration. They are to be labelled “far right” or “domestic terrorists”.

The uncontrolled mass immigration is all part of breaking up nation states. When every street in every country looks the same with no diversity anywhere because everywhere is so diverse – who will object to the dissolution of their country for the greater plan?

Having posted about the fake news that has been circulated and fear mongering by the starmztroopers government. Including our useless ziofascist illegal apartheid entity loving local MP, Creasy, posting messages about avoiding the area! That’s how they try and manipulate – with FEAR. Stella can fuck off we don’t need her ‘representation’ – she should resign and let a genuine local candidate represent us.

This is what has happened yesterday in my neighbourhood.

    3 pm
About dozen
Or so police vans and TSG protectors
Shop windows being boarded up.
McDonalds open doing great trade with double parked police vans.
    Scaremongering.

Will be out with thousands of locals seeing if anyone stupid enough to threaten us or our properties.

8.30 pm. You should be able to see pictures of the turnout of locals. Beautiful.
It meant that even the riled up youth were unable to get into a froth. Majority reflected demographic. Many non-Asian non-Afro English.
Some Palestinian flags, good to see.
All beautiful and calm, carnival atmosphere at sunset.
Me in flip flops and shorts. 🙂

The fascists? Unless they were hiding and crawled away out – didn’t have a chance. Didn’t see any groups or individuals protesting. There were some odd ones wandering around for couple days. Doing a recce I suppose.

We are not ready to be a fascist nation and this particular example proves it.
Their passage of more extreme policing laws is going to be a lot more challenged now.

Great Knight Dope dalek gets his first FAIL in already – his warmongering is now only going to be massively opposed. No matter how many false flag terrorist attacks they will launch. After last night that is what I expect as their usual playbook. Because they have No Reverse Gear and only ratchet up the provocations.

I wholly expect the rock against racism and stop the wars mass movements to resurrect for the rest of this summer – it’s fun to protest against injustice, make a carnival of it and show the BIG LOVE weapon in response to violence, fear and state fascism.

We are not distracted from the zionazi Holocaust upon the Palestinians.

I was in Brighton yesterday, which was about to play unwilling host last night to a far right demo. The demo was going to protest at a solicitors’ office where the lawyers had been helping immigrants.

Except they never got there. Thousands (not hundreds as reported by the BBC – their journalists need to learn how to count) of Brightonians turned out to tell the protestors they weren’t welcome. And in the end I think only eight of them showed up. What a tragically small army. 😂.

But I want to thank you, Craig, as I had rather foolishly been swayed into thinking that staying hidden away out of sight at home was the wisest choice. Your article completely persuaded me otherwise. And it also persuaded a seasoned Extinction Rebellion campaigner I know to come out on the street and not be scared. We had an absolute whale of a time at a free carnival effectively provided by the far right. 😂😂😂😂😂 You are the man and such an inspiration.

And now Brighton is ready for anything. The idea that fascism could take root here now seems laughable after last night. This has made me adore my home town all the more. Go Brighton! 😍😍

Thank you, Mr Murray, for leading on this. I see the Starmerite Labour Right and the Tory press are now claiming to be part of the anti-hate movement, if not leading it. It has been noted many a time, but you could not make these people up!

    • nevermind

Starmer is leading us into silence, were he is allowed to outlaw peaceful demonstrations that are demanding a cease fire and an adherence to ICJ laws.
Violent armed settlers all have homes to go to, in the US, Russia, eastern Europe and elsewhere, hence they must be disarmed and the land in Palestine, the west bank, east Jerusalem and wherever Palestinians have been displaced, be returned to the rightful owners to go home to.
If Starmer and his Zionist paymasters do not understand this and carry on with funding influencers such as yaxley Lennon, then it will be they who are seeding violence.
You cannot talk of opposing right-wing violence when you are collaborating with those who fund it, when you fund arms for Ukraine and Israel’s right-wing violent wars, whilst sitting on the sideline and creating fear.
The police cannot deal with concerted Zionist efforts to undermine our society with violence. God is great!

      Sarge,
And the beeb has deployed its lead expert voice on truth in the interweb to whitewash their part in the fake immigrant attack on the girls.
Mariana, Springs into action with smoke and mirrors … yet still gaslights us that it’s Pootin. BBC disinformation and social media correspondent.

You can always be pretty sure the US is involved when Farage is stirring things up and the media blame Putin. Sure enough, on the front page of the Metro today: “Putin’s Pawns Stoking Riots”

    • Jack

If Russia blamed every ill, in the russian society, on the west, the west would laugh and ultimately condemn it. But the west themselves do it for everything problem that arise in western societies?! I assume there is a grand psychological projection going on, it is the west trying to agitate russians on social media to create unrest in Russia but then blame Russia for interference in western societies.

More on topic: Why are the western media so silent and uninterested in the far more obvious contender of influencing brutish racist, fascist violent groups? Israel. Heck, Tommy Robinson have public, open ties to pro-israel groups and on public record saying he would fight for Israel. How much evidence do you need as a journalist?!

    • Alyson

Our government(s) want us to blame Putin because our weapons are going to Ukraine, and this decision may come back to bite us. Labour inherited the agreements made by Cameron so it remains to be seen whether escalation will progress at the previously intended pace, or whether Labour will make its own decisions in due course.

Standing down community hostilities does not deny differences in cultural norms, which live side by side. The unity of peaceful protest against the far right agenda is to our credit as a multicultural nation.

People who intend bad things towards other people are found in every political milieu. The different isms reveal oppression and potential for bullying of various defined social groups, and rule of law should be fair enough to address risk elements in the running for influencer leadership.

The precedent of jailing the Just Stop Oil group simply for planning to block the M25 should be applied to the organisers of this coordinated aggression by right-wing elements. Catching the violent offenders has been the first-line approach but charging the organisers with identifiable offences will be an interesting challenge. Who controls the narrative?

      • Brian Red

The precedent of jailing the Just Stop Oil group (…) Who controls the narrative?

        Probably whoever controls the medium.

On stopping oil and the recent violence in Britain:

        * most of the oil extracted in the world is consumed by transport – about two thirds of it;

        * the world’s biggest front man for electrical vehicles has been helping to stir up fascist violence in Britain (saying civil war, meaning race war, is “inevitable”); and…

        * on Monday he’s going to be “interviewing” Donald Trump.

This is what Trump says anyway. I’m not sure whether Musk himself has mentioned the planned interview at all. Could be a big one. Trump promises Really Big Stuff regarding his beloved Ponzicurrency, and he also promises a 60% tariff on Chinese imports. I won’t be at all surprised if he crashes.

He may be saying “Hey – look – I can smash stuff up real good if I want. Really bigly. Big time. China policy, nukes, NATO, the US dollar – I could break the whole damned lot of it. Now can one of you guys just pay me off and I’ll go quietly?”

Where would this leave Musk? My intuition has long been that Musk is flying by the seat of his capacious pants and will bite the dust in ignominy.
