If one set aside the political stance taken by Trump on various issues, I am somewhat impressed by the energy and effort he put into his job especially comapred to Sleepy Joe. It already feels like Trump have worked more in 1 month than Biden did in 1 year.
Too bad though that the power and energetic work by Trump is not directed towards benign goals.
US could easily end the Gaza genocide today. US could easily stop Ukraine war, lift people out of poverty etc.Tatyana
Jack, I in my turn, really like Elon Musk’s approach.
He found out that the number of people receiving social benefits is greater than the total number of people in the US, and some of these grant-eaters have demonstrated amazing longevity. There were about 5 million people reported between the ages of 100 and 109, about 1.5 million between the ages of 150 and 159, and even two between the ages of 240-249 and 360-369!
So, Musk joked that maybe these are vampires and The Twilight Saga is not entirely fictional 🙂And I love it! I like it that a healthy view of things is returning! And that they show irony when talking about absurd things!
Unlike the previous administration, where ridiculous things were presented with a dramatic and solemn face.AG
“He found out that the number of people receiving social benefits is greater than the total number of people in the US”
What is that story? I guess I missed it (It´s difficult to keep up with the elections coming up and all)Tatyana
Hi, AG.
Here it is, Elon’s twitter

Trump really pile on Zelensky now blasting him for being ungrateful (see links below), Zelensky better watch out because without the US aid, he is finished and perhaps even Ukraine is finished. Trump could as he forced other nations with tariffs and threats very well do the same with Ukraine. It is obvious that Zelensky, behind the scenes, are flooded with support by the EU, telling him not to care what Trump say, egging him on, incite him like he is some dog because Zelensky acting too tough now, it does not fit him standing up to the same US that have done so much for Ukraine. It is senseless and adding to that Zelensky’s waining support and his refusal to step down could make him dangerous, trying to save his legacy by any means. So perhaps also Trump must watch out, I would not be surprised if Ukraine plot for his assassination.
Trump’s condemnation of Zelensky:

Haha what on earth is going on? Have Germany lost it completely now? Coming with threats against the US:
Germany issues warning to US
Annalena Baerbock insists Europe should make it clear to President Trump that failure to back “liberal democracies” will come at a priceSpeaking at a campaign rally in Potsdam on Friday, the Green politician stated, “We’re increasing pressure on the Americans [so they know] they have a lot to lose if they don’t stand on the side of Europe’s liberal democracies.”
https://swentr.site/news/613126-germany-us-russia-ukraine/
Of course Germany, nor the EU have no power or leverage over the US. This is pathetic to watch. They really shoot themselves in the foot now and for what reason then, just because Trump want peace and not war!?
Very bizarre too that the reason for Germany’s criticism is alleged illiberal tendencies, that is from the same Germany that harass their own population for just posting this or that comment or meme on the internet. Even CBS 60 minutes had a coverage about the other day (even though the narration was pro-censorship)
Germany is prosecuting online trolls. Here’s how the country is fighting hate speech on the internet.
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/germany-online-hate-speech-prosecution-60-minutes/
As Vance said the other day:
Vance floats US troop withdrawal from Germany over free-speech concerns
U.S. Vice President JD Vance on Thursday night suggested that the Trump administration could reconsider its military presence in Germany, tying continued American defense commitments to Berlin’s stance on free speech.
Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington, Vance took direct aim at Germany’s handling of online speech restrictions, warning that the American public would not support funding the country’s defense while its government cracks down on political expression.
“Think about this,” Vance said. “Germany’s entire defense is subsidized by the American taxpayer. There are thousands upon thousands of American troops in Germany today. Do you think that the American taxpayer is going to stand for that if you get thrown in jail in Germany for posting a mean tweet? Of course, they’re not.”

Just came in to say what’s going on here on our side
Re. Trump want peace and not warAfter these Trump’s statements, emotions on social networks were so intense that you can cook popcorn right on the screen of your gadget!
The main question today is – if in 2022 you protested against the war, then it was considered a protest against Putin. Today in 2025, opposing the war has become a show of support for Putin.

Yeah, people like “us” here was right all along but we were defamed and harassed as bots, trolls, agents for saying the obvious:
McCarthyism, European style: The elite crackdown on Ukraine dissent
Experts lambasted as Kremlin mouthpieces turned out to be righthttps://responsiblestatecraft.org/europe-ukraine-war/
I reckon that the EU are now in the “denial” and increasingly in the “anger” stage of the classic Grief model:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_stages_of_griefPutin said something similiar some days ago, EU will bark now but sooner or later they have no alternative than to get in line behind Trump:
Putin predicts Europe will ‘wag its tail’ to ‘master’ Donald Trump
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvOSspPppas
A caveat is of course Trump himself, he is a loose cannon, the pressure on him is now immense by the EU warhawks but I hope he will withstand the pressure and move on with his policy for Ukraine.
Tatyana
If we talk about who was right from the very beginning – there was a completely obvious logical fallacy in that approach “anything, but only if Putin doesn’t like it”
Absolute bullshit in terms of formal logic.
Making the satisfaction/displeasure of the leader of another state the main marker of the correctness of one’s own policy is simply the height of stupidity.
But they can be consoled that at least they were free in their choice. They seem to understand freedom in this way.Tatyana
I imagine that I once said to my husband: honey, I heard that Biden hates broccoli and peas, so we are switching to a diet of broccoli and peas. More broccoli and more peas for as long as we can stand it. You know, you will have to be patient so that Biden is not happy.
I think I would get a divorce very quickly. Which is exactly what is happening in politics now.

It is really awful when Trump and his administration now actually try to make peace in Ukraine but get no support from the rest of the west/media, it is like the west do not comprehend how peacebuilding is done:
Just as Trump say, as a response to the first question in this video below, if you want peace with someone you cannot just go on condemning, criticising this person, you need to build confidence, better relations to eventually come to a deal:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5oCFVBjpzEAlso Marco Rubio laid it out quite good here in how to achive peace, and that is certainly not by keep offending Russia as Zelensky like Trump to do, that is not how it works!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1-bnv0YWbcWhy is this basic knowledge, uderstanding so hard to comprehend for the west?!

Trump claim that nuclear weapons are the biggest threat facing mankind:
Nuclear weapons pose a much more significant danger than climate change, according to the US president
“I watched [former US president Joe] Biden for years say the existential threat… is from the climate. And I said, ‘no’. The greatest is sitting in shelves in various countries called ‘nuclear weapons’ that are big monsters that can blow your heads off for miles and miles and miles,” Trump argued.
–
Advocating for global disarmament, Trump proposed on Thursday that all nations eliminate their nuclear arsenals. He pointed out that the US and Russia currently hold the largest stockpiles, while China is rapidly expanding its capabilities. Trump called for talks on denuclearization, emphasizing the “crazy” power of these weapons.
https://swentr.site/news/613954-nuclear-weapons-trump-threat/
The other day it was also reported how Trump is going to slash/downsize the military.

Trump to cut funding for Radio Free Liberty and Voice of America:
Trump orders cutbacks at state-run media
The US president has signed an executive order that effectively dismantles the parent company of Voice of America and Radio LibertyIt also targets the US Agency for Global Media (USAGM), which oversees the state-owned Voice of America (VOA), along with Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) and Radio Free Asia, which are separate not-for-profit entities that are also fully funded from the US budget. All three claim to provide unbiased news to audiences in around 100 countries, but are widely seen as propaganda outlets.

Trump really aim to cut down on the “american empire” or perhaps just make it more effective?
