A doorknob would be more likely to be used on exit from the house than entry, assuming it is one that doesn’t need to be turned to open the door but would be needed to pull the door shut.

Re KNOBS & GLOVES:
In my 04.55 post yesterday I linked to an article by Craig entitled Knobs and Knockers, which I read at the time, or shortly thereafter, but earlier on this evening I came onto this thread to see if anyone had responded to my 04.55 post in which I start by asking: Do we actually know if Sergei was wearing gloves? Anyway, I then thought I’d have a read of Craig’s article again (the only reason I brought it up yesterday was to copy the link and post it in my comment) and, in doing so, I see that Craig sometimes refers to the ‘door-knob’, and at other times refers to the ‘door handle’. I mention it just for the record, as I posted a link to it as evidence that it was in fact the door-knob that was alledgedly coated with Novichok. That said, and as I said anyway, you can see from pictures of the front of Sergei’s house that there is only a door-knob (and no door handle).
Anyway – re gloves – the funny thing is that after rereading the Knobs and Knockers article I thought I’d bring up all of Craig’s articles on the subject and save them (so as to look through them all again at some point), so I typed >salisbury< in to his search engine, and started going through the list of results and saving them, and – this is the funny (not haha) bit, that it was either the second or the third one in the list in the list of results that came up that just happened to say the following in the very first paragraph:
The security services put an extraordinary amount of media priming effort into explaining why the alleged novichok attack on the Skripals had a delayed effect of several hours, and then failed to kill them. Excuses included that it was a cold day which slowed their metabolisms, that the chemical took a long time to penetrate their skins, that the gel containing the novichok inhibited its operation, that it was a deliberately non-fatal dose, that rain had diluted the novichok on the doorknob, that the Skripals were protected by gloves and possibly only came into contact in taking the gloves off….
Magic Novichok
October 23, 2020
https://www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2020/10/magic-novichok/Given the context in which it was said, it’s still not actual proof that Sergei (or Yulia) WERE wearing gloves that day. That said, it was pretty cold, so there’s a good chance they were. Then again, they’re Russian….
But it still doesn’t explain how they BOTH came into contact with the Novichok. But whether they did or they didn’t wear gloves is irrelevent, because there is no way that they would both become incapacitated in the same moment. The chances of that happening are somewhere in the region of absolute zero.
PS And yes, I DID read Craig’s article at the time, but obviously can’t remember every single detail (and I don’t recall reading any article in the MSM that mentioned gloves as a reason as to why it took several hours for the Novichok to (alledgedly) take affect).
